So good, I bought the DVDs on Ebay.

You must be able to control the volume on your TV to get through the lead actress's screeching for many of the earlier episodes. But watching the lead male actor makes even that worthwhile. His many personalities range from frightening, to lovable, and from romantic to comical. There's mystery, romance, drama, action, and comedy, throughout with a satisfying ending to tie them all together. This was my first encounter with the lead actor, but not my last. I just found Dr. John and loving it as well!

Poor script that good actors can't save.

I hate bad writing. There are so many common sense errors on the part of the characters that it had me shouting at my TV set. Example: S1 E16. When Park Yunang and his girl are approached by Hyewon and her henchman. it makes no sense once Park gets the rifle away from the henchman and shoots the Derringer out of Hyewon's hand. Park turns his back on the henchman lying on the ground to shoot at Hyewon's weapon, but the unharmed henchman never takes the advantage to attack Park from behind, until after he disarms Hyewon by firing the one and only bullet in the bolt action gun. Then Parks points the unloaded gun at the henchman, who stops in his tracks even though he must know the gun is useless. Then leaving both guns and their enemies behind, they turn their backs on their enemies and simply walk away. The hangun might be useless, but the rifle only needed another bullet loaded, so why wouldn't the henchman grab the gun, reload and go after them? Then people get shot throughout the show, but no one dies, and they heal in a matter of days. The memes I understand, but the tactical stupidity-- I can't suspend my belief that far. Then there's that guards that hear something and turn to look, clearly see a bush moving as if something passed by, but don't bother to check. And the dumbest thing, was having the traitors signing a pact with their fingerprint to overthrow their king. Why? It's totally unnecessary unless you want it to be your death warrant. And why is the King so helpless? He knows half his court is corrupt, but his ministers push him around like a rag doll and he seems to be unable to stop them. What a waste of a strong cast. I will finish watching this simply because of the casting.

unique plot

Spoiler Alert: The only annoying thing about this show is the complete gulliabilty of the lead female character. Her sister screws her over a dozen times, and she keeps trusting her. Even the lead male is slow on the uptake. he is fooled just as often. It was really irritating, since both know their enemies are out to get them. When the hero gets shoved out of the way from a car driven by his foe, the lead female stands there for an eternity. all she needed to do was shout a warning! But no, she's chooses to shove him out of the way and gets hit by the car instead. While I loved the unusual story, and the actors, the writer's made them both unbelievably stupid.

After 3 parts...no ending.

While I enjoyed watching all 18 eps ( 3, 6 hr seasons), I am not happy that there is no ending. I assume it wasn't renewed, so I wasted three days watching this. Only the lead actor, Song Joong Ki, and the unusual time period, (neolithic), made this worth a look. Very disappointed to be left hanging. The story was interesting, the acting was good, but with no end, I feel like Cinderella and the prince lost my slipper and married someone else. There is no closure or hint of how the show might have ended.

Want romance and likable characters? This is it!

Hollywood, listen up! You want a strong, female girl boss, who can still be sweet and likable, along with an equally strong hero? watch and learn how it's done! Both lead actors excelled in their roles. Both were tough and tender, and the supporting cast was one of THE BEST I've seen so far in Chinese cinema! Each episode drew you in and each character shone. Even the bad guys were well drawn and layered. (I wish I could read the original book!) And there's a ton of romance, from a middle-aged couple, a secondary lead romance, several twisted romances involving the bad guys, even a hint of a future romance in two little kids. The main heroine is strong, but retains her femininity and sweet nature. The hero is loyal and stoic on the outside, tender and protective on the inside. The only downside of this show was the confusing ending. But that aside, this is a series I want to own on DVD. I've already watched it twice so far. If you saw Prisoner of Beauty, this is just as great.

Great plot, but hollow lead characters.

I was looking for romance and great lead characters. What I received were two kisses, a Chinese girl boss and a lead male that does nothing but hold her coat. Please, China, don't follow Hollywood down the bllack hole of radical feminism and emasculated males! You can have likable strong female leads with strong and handsome male leads. See Pursuit of Jade for instructions. This story had an intetesting plot, but an ice cold FL, and an almost pointess ML. I kept hoping it would improve, but it never did.

It's like watching an intense game of chess!

The K2 cemented Ji Chang Wook as my favorite Korean actor! I watched this immediately after seeing Healer and both kept me binge watching into the wee hours of the morning. I loved the writing of this show. Just as the hero or herorine find themselves in a tight corner that you think they can't escape, they find a way. If you like mysteries, or action flicks, or heart melting romances, this series has it all. Normally, I prefer historical dramas more, but Healer and The K2, changed my mind. My goal is to find and watch everything Ji Chang Wook ever did.

I want to own this one!

This show introduced me to Ji Chang Wook's work. You cannot help falling in love with his character. He' smart and tough wrapped around a sweet and vulnerable boy. And can he kiss!! He never fails to curl your toes when he kisses the girl. I love the mystery and the action of this story. It draws you in and keep you glued to the screen. Even the secondary characters are marvelous--his master and his female hacker especially. This has mystery, action, intrigue, and an unfortgettable romance. I never wanted it to end.
