Your review is spot on. I rated this a 2 because the ML was so problematic. I also didn’t like the FL. The whole thing was horrible.

I agree the story was choppy. It was like a comic book jumping from scene to scene- like bullet points of a plot and leaving out the journey between main plot points.

I don’t remember which episode is the turning point. I do recall that it’s more than her motivations aligning with his. She barely speaks and has no activity after she’s released from the dungeon. She just hangs out in his house and is present when he wants to talk to her.

I completely agree with your take on Jiu Chen. He speaks about her in a demeaning way. He steamrolls her and doesn’t respect her boundaries. And he keeps abandoning her without communicating what is going on. Her causes her emotional trauma because he doesn’t respect her enough to tell her what’s going on even when it’s about her. I liked the relationship with the 2nd ML lead and Ling Xi much better.
