I do appreciate writer & PD putting in the effort to pull off the era vibe, though imo the script is weaker than the novel as they played it rather safe to appease the viewers.

They're both second chance type stories and both main characters go to law school so probably got the similar vibes due to school setting? Also the author of the novel 'Youngest Son of a Conglomerate' does have a lawyer novel 네 법대로 해라 if I remember, so probably has familiarity with the law topics.
nah i'm glad u enjoyed it! I just wish it could've been better. Like there are times when I regret I read the novel first cuz I always see dramas and realize stuff is cut out which honestly will happen because dramas have to condense it.... but you can literally ignore the posts if you hate it? It just so weird I'm not allowed to express my disappointments.
I respect your opinion, not fully agreeing with it though (as I agree I like the novel & manhwa depiction more where grandfather cares for his grandkids unlike the drama )
I mentioned in a comment, that I think it's valid the investing is not in the child portion in the kdrama since child investing is not suitable to the audience, but I don't agree with it not being possible as Dojun was investing with his father's friend... so there was an adult involved, Dojun's not unsupervised, his father's friend is crucial in that portion. But I don't really see the father's friend being necessary when Dojun's in college because Dojun would be an adult and can invest without an adult figure.
( Also looking up, GS Holdings' 9 yr old chaebol son that made 950 million won in dividends in 2011 in a Korean news article so it frankly possible for Korean kids to have that much money..... though this series is set in like the late 80-90's so maybe not that much? )
Though the premise is not exactly realistic either, with the whole rebirth/transmigration/second chance tidbit in it. So I feel the novel took advantage of that premise much better than the drama.
Yeah pretty subtle. I think it's mostly because they don't want promote current young kids investing & being greedy, so I feel moving the investing to older age is valid, but it lacks the impact for this episode. I hope the future episodes make up for it though.
Yeah. There are parts from the novel such as MC Dojun visiting his original family to find out his OG body doesn't exist; MC Dojun asking for land; MC Dojun going to law school to make his grandfather proud,..........but they were not executed like in the novel & the kdrama cut out stuff (such as investments which I think will be moved to his college years & my favorite scene 'the toy horse gift from grandfather' was replaced by the 'broken vase being framed' part, so the episode doesn't go well since portions were related to the horse scene & investing )

But it's long and complicated LOL Overall I feel like the kdrama just framed child MC Dojun as a pitiful kid who is lost and always needing to prove himself.... & execution of his strengths was done poorly. (The actors & actresses did well; it's the kdrama story that I did not enjoy ) But in the novel, Dojun is greedy yet brilliant taking advantage of his past life knowledge of future events to make millions investing in movies/overseas companies as a kid.....& gaining his grandfather's favor through giving his advice/opinions. So I feel we lost this 'greedy' part that is integral to his character in the kdrama.
