Man this show is fire i just wish that i didn't watch dramas late in the evening or early in the night now. Every "stranger" freaked me out more than any horror ever did. Though I'm still glad that i started this one for Jihoon.
I don't get the raves. It was such a mess. It had its moments, but it played like a BL from 2019. All the old…
I know, right? The heteronormative (Aggressive in his pursuing, physically strong top and weak and "feminine" looking shorter bottom etc) and borderline misogynistic tropes of old BLs, consent issues were a major ick. The acting is good, the picture is pretty. But the plot and character likeability falls flat for me.
I thought the roles will be reversed, cause everyone promised that, but nah. It's the same old story i stopped liking when i was like 14 haha.
I'm really glad i dropped it now cause looking at how people call "haters" and "antis" anyone who reasonably criticizes this show for its shortcomings or gives it a low rating is...wow, really. Yall people can't handle a little bit of heat not even directed at you.
Everyone saying on here that they watched and stayed for MekDech, but I'm here to say that I'm far more invested in Rati and Thee. Unfortunately i love The Yearning ™ more than a bonfire of emotions.
I do not care how "boring" they are, i can watch them making eyes at each other for one hundred years and still cheer every time, because that's what i am too, the yearner. Clap if you care.
(I would also argue that yearning from afar is peak gay behaviour but whatever maybe I'm just a loser.)
I don’t understand — if you don’t love someone or aren’t willing to share any kind of feeling or touch,…
Societal pressure. Unfortunately, it's still here in this day and age, and back then, it was way worse. You HAD to have a child, especially if you're from the upper class. You had to make a child, your wants and needs be damned.
And no one cares what the child thinks about it, in fact, it was quite normal if the husband and wife outright despised each other. But, of course, the wife always pulled the shortest stick, because she actually needed to bear the unwanted child.
You can fake pleasure, as a man. Thinking about someone else is not unheard of. Woman, though? Who asked her? Not unheard of women experiencing nothing but disgust during the act, either. But nothing could be done about it. Unless you want to run away and risk everything to be free.
I watched the BTS footage, and it seems like he knows how to pronounce the sounds, and knows the translations, but can't form a coherent sentence on his own, which means he didn't actually learn it, aside from simple sentences, that is. That's why everything he says in french sounds so choppy.
Which, makes sense, lol. It would take much more time to film it, if he did, considering how much french he speaks in it.
*In a "gal who just started watching" voice* Honestly, this is probably the only time i will believe in fever actually happening. Not from overworking though, from stress. I've had fevers before due to being stressed out, and god knows Dech's father stressed the hell out of poor Rati.
If persons mental state is weak enough due to previous discomfort (Everything that happened before the lessons lol), you can suffer from psychical consequences too, if the final straw is strong enough.
I thought people were exaggerating about the ads, but oh boy was i wrong. Why am i skipping like three times AT BEST in one episode. I do not even care when they whip out the guitar, but this. This is something else lol.
I do not know who did them so dirty, but i hope they're not sleeping well over it now.
8.4 isn't high enough for you?I'm a gay man. This series is boring garbage. Also, lots of gay people have lives…
"Plain looking" for you, maybe. You do not know how he fits into SK standards. But i do know that the actor is considered to be handsome, at least by watching interviews with him and by reactions he gets from casual watchers and fans alike.
And I'm not talking about ratings, not really. I'm talking about reviews, how's everyone disappointed by the "sad ending" and by how depressing the show is overall. And like i already said, there's plenty of happy shows AND neutral shows, there should be sad shows too. There is a place for them, especially since the show takes place in a HIGHLY conservative country.
Most gay people live happy lives? Please. Where? In a country like mine, where it's a crime to wear a rainbow pin? You should take those countries and those people into account too. There's shitloads of us.
And, really, the main character doesn't have to be a good person for a show to be well made or entertaining. He's a realistic person, and that's enough. If you want all characters to be good in a show so it can be considered good, well.....look elsewhere. There's plenty.

"Look up a psychological thriller as a genre." It is not...a psychological thriller either. Psychological thriller emits a sense of dread. A comedy/romance with dark elements is not a thriller, it's dark comedy.
I honestly don’t know. But I think it’s categorized as a thriller because of the tension? There’s the whole…
Honestly most of those situations are still showed through the comedy lense, so i'm not sure if the thriller tag is really warranted. It is a crime that the comedy is not here tho cause it's like....the main thing.
Can someone explain to my dumb self why this has the thriller tag, but not comedy? Where's the thriller at? Or…
"Thriller is a genre of fiction with numerous, often overlapping, subgenres, including crime, horror, and detective fiction. Thrillers are dark, engrossing, and suspenseful plot-driven stories. They very seldom include comedic elements. " As far as i know the book has a little bit of that, but the show doesn't, it's comedy and romance with sprinkles of dark stuff so what's the deal?
Can someone explain to my dumb self why this has the thriller tag, but not comedy? Where's the thriller at? Or we tag anything a lil bit unnerving thrillers those days?
