can you tell me more about cho won,,,, like is he really scared to act on his own without the permission of lady…
On the opposite: both Cho-won and Lady Jo ( in old movie at least) playing cat and mouse game with each other for the most of the story, at the expense of both Heeyeon and So-ok (seriously, these two girl merely become plaything and trophies for Cho-won and Lady Jo "game" at the second half of the movie).

I don't think you should reveal such important plot points before release especially for people who have not seen…
It's not a spoiler though, most of what being shared here so far are inline with plot from '03 movie.
The director however clearly states that his Scandal will contain a separate plots and narratives that didn't exist in both movie and original novel, and it shows (dynamic relationship (borderline GL?) plot between Lady Cho and Heeyeon for example, didn't exist in both original source).

According to Netflix, it has "strong sex scenes" and "nudity", but I've seen those descriptors…
I assume its Netflix Australia ones? Based by ACB Scandal did received MA 15+ rating for strong sex scenes, nudity, and sexual themes ( prior to August 25 before teaser launch the descriptor slightly different though : strong sex scene, sexual themes and sexualized imagery). Among all of Netflix Korea original series, AFAIK, Scandal is the first title who have "nudity" and "sexual themes" tag on its consumer advice section.

For comparison, here's how Scandal age rating on Netflix page being displayed in various regional :
Korea (based by KMRB standards) : 19 for sexuality and profanity
US : TV- MA for sex, nudity, and smoking
Singapore (IMDA) : R21 for nudity, sex
India : A for sex, suicide, nudity, tobacco use
South Africa (FPB ) : 16 for nudity, sexual conduct
UK (BBFC ): 15 for sex, nudity, suicide, sex references
Netherland (Kijkwijzer) : 16 for sex ( the highest so far for Korea originals in terms of sex axis, none of other K-original series on Netflix has this stats before : mostly it's sex axis stays between 12, with Somebody are exception at 14)
Spain : 18 for sex, nudity (again, the highest in terms of sex-nudity axis, only Somebody (who also directed by JJW) has the same descriptor)

If the release date is actually September 18th, aren't they running really late with the promotion?
Not really.
Netflix KR promotion cycle for their original series always started 4 weeks (sometimes 3 weeks but really rare) prior to airing date. And they almost always releasing teaser/trailer in Thursday or Friday, So the teaser will be released either today (unlikely now given their tendencies to launch their teaser/trailer clip in the morning between 09-11 AM KST ), or tomorrow August 21 at the same hour (which is approx. 4 weeks until September 18 timeframe).

Don't mind me asking a silly question, but if you've seen the movie, who is the toxic character?? 🫣🫣🫣
Among three main characters? definitely Madam Cho , seconded by Jowon (although he slowly get his redemption during second half), and Heeyon actually most innocent (naive is more likely imo) among those three.

I suspect she's the young concubine based on the actual story. Otherwise, can't see another significant character.
Nana playing as a Huiyeon/widow one (played by Jeon do Yeon in original movie).
That leaves Sook (the innocent concubine) as the only major supporting character that didn't showing up yet in this remake. Either they make new character based by old ones, or totally ditched her character and make new subplot somehow.

Title The Scandal Spoiler
Han sun hwa's character is a total mystery...maybe they'll give hints in the main trailer
This is me just do some guessing based by some search : two weeks ago sunhwa posted 2 pics on her IG, she at Scandal filming set wearing two sets of different attires (it's just pic of her shades really so not showing any obvious hint). One of them giving similar vibes with So-ok (played by Lee Soo Yeon in the original movie), the other one resemble either high-ranking noblewomen or gisaeng.

Also, back in december there is this background performer on 필름메이커스 커뮤니티 forum who added Scandal as her upcoming works on her profile page, where she'll be 소옥 스탠딩 대역 (So-ok stand-in double).

Given that So-ok are the only major supporting character in the original movie that not yet appear, and Sunhwa so far are the only announced cast that didn't have any named role (they did say that her character will be the original and doesn't exist on 2003 movie), I guess Sunhwa would be playing either :
Sook character, albeit with different name (hence the "original character"), or
someone who live an double life : one as Sook, the other as whoever that "original character" supposed to be.)

Try to search Jung Jiwoo (director) works prior Scandal, or better, just watch his first drama works (Somebody, also on Netflix), then do some digging about JCW interview last December. And you can figure it out whether this one will be R-rated or straight Disney PG

Shooting wrapped while ago but why there are no single poster, teaser or any leaks released?
They just finished shooting late September this year. Post-production usually takes 6-8 months. So we probably won't hear anything until early 2026.

Why put foreigners actress like Arden cho and ally achiraya if they don't have background in Kpop industry in…
1. Arden Cho also are producer in this movie. And production probably want to capitalize on her post-KDH fame as a movie selling point.
2. They got Jeon Somi as a main lead, Nancy (momoland), Siyoon (billlie), and Chaerin (cherry bullet), as a support cast. That should be adequate enough to emphasize "kpop background"
3. Based by early production notes , this movie gonna focused on horror-thriller aspect instead of kpop-music industry aspect. So this one probably gonna look like 화이트: 저주의 멜로디 rather than live-action KDH.
4. Since they do majority of the filming in Thailand, might as well cast a local rising star like Ally to score some global marketing point.
