Sigh - while one can understand YL's difficulties in revealing everything to MXY, she nevertheless missed the opportunity to take control of the narrative.
Think this is Cheng Lei's strongest performance to date. He's really been able to infuse depth into the character without tripping into over dramatization 💯💯
Though i like this drama, i really wish it wasnt advertised as the novel's IP, because they just took some similar…
Yes, I wonder why they bother when the plot is completely and utterly different. And this is not the only drama to do so. Do they think they will get more traction if they say it's based on some popular work? It seems to do a disservice to both the original IP as well as the writers of the drama especially when the drama's storyline can stand on its own merits.
I think the best thing about this drama is the way it has turned what at first glance seems to be just another "I'm back to seek revenge and right the wrongs of the past" storyline into something which has such psychological mystery and depth. Everything seems to be following well-known, well-trodden paths but the viewer starts to get glimpses of a deeper reality and begins to suss something is off. The clues are revealed quite deftly and I like the way they let the viewers work it out on their own and have their own eureka moments. It's very refreshing.
I have to say everyone is being very impressively considerate of YL’s mental state. Neither her senior nor MXY call her out even when they figure out she’s having imaginary convos and/or taking on different personas.
Kudos to YL for forging ahead even when her uncle warns her not to destroy her current relationship. Especially after going thru everything on the mountain and her fear of being left alone again.
Oh dear, is everyone on the mountain dead? No wonder she's going around practically in a fugue state.......... What sort of soldiers guard a place day in day out and notice nothing?
Nah - she is not playing him. As she told her mother, she sincerely is happy to be his good wife. But they BOTH…
Yes don’t think she’s playing him either. It’s probably also super awkward to reveal that her family played a key role in his family’s tragedy and she’s trying to right that wrong, how would one even begin that conversation. And then there’s her mental trauma thrown in the mix as well……
What sort of soldiers guard a place day in day out and notice nothing?
YZ, the longer you delay, the more pigslaps may be coming your way..........
