Xi-er's brother is actually still alive here. Idk how big or small his role will be but hoping to see the siblings…
In the novel, BFX is so much more blatant especially when she teases the men around her............but all sanitised for the censors in China - big sigh!

Ah well, at least they are nowhere as terrible as mango tv subbing - I still remember how they once subbed "since the prince likes to play the flute" as "since the prince likes blowjobs"!

Well I guess no matter how low profile he wants to be in that persona, he still can't avoid being noticed because of his status as the first legitimate prince. Plus his wicked stepmom won't care if he's just being idolized for being an idle, super fastidious, elegant gentleman.
BFX having a hard time temporarily running a sect (actually just 9 people) and being too dependent to ml.. Not…
I wonder if it is because the producers/scriptwriters think that all their women viewers essentially only want to be coddled and taken care of - such a passe, so last last century attitude. I really only understood the appeal of a BL drama after watching WOH - there because it's two guys neither has to be dumbed down or made subordinate. At this rate I guess we won't be seeing BFX tie up HFX in the end and carry him off..............
I don't get it: if Feng Lan Xi pretends to be weak how is he considered to be one of the four heroes of the martial…
I think the translation by the subber is not really that accurate - feel it would be better translated as the Four Gentlemen or the Four Noblemen - so they're not listed according to their martial prowess but based on the fact that they are the most outstanding (including in martial arts if applicable), most elegant, most handsome, most artistic, most learned etc etc young noblemen in the empire. That's why Feng Lanxi can be there because of his looks, his elegance, for his taste in flowers, poetry etc etc - kind of helps if you think of them as the hottest, most eligible bachelors of the day rather than just kung fu masters.

Probably the same reason they keep using Hei Feng Bai Xi in the drama instead of the other way around like in the novel...........they want to make the FL independent but not too independent. Big sigh, always happens in historical heterosexual cdramas - no matter how smart they are in the beginning the poor FLs always end up getting dumbed down or weakened by the end - seldom given a chance to be a true equal or even superior........

Yes, but for me it does fit in with BFX's carefree nu xia wandering around the jianghu character at this stage. Unlike HFX she has no ambition to run the world or the need to scheme to survive because of a wicked stepmother and a disinterested father....... I suppose something is coming up that will force her to accept the responsibility of taking over the throne in her kingdom. There may still be hope for FQW - there seems to be a scene in one of the trailers where she seems to be friends with BFX............
Yups, it's only a verified injury or death if they puke blood - it's like that's the only way ancient Chinese…
There is actually a literal term "puking blood" in Chinese or at least in Cantonese which means so angry or frustrated can puke/spit blood so I guess it's not surprising that it's an indicator of death/injury in cdrama 😂
Why did the Yongzhou eunuch make the comment to the Yongzhou Lord that Chang has no need to compete for power…
I think aside from FC's status at that time it should be due to his epilepsy. You can see his mother basically disowned him when she finds out he has fits. And the king while still a crown prince also advised her to let him be raised by a palace maid. So he's automatically out of the running cos of his illness and perceived "weakness". There's always soooo much bad parenting going on in historical cdramas...........
