Yes, but for me it does fit in with BFX's carefree nu xia wandering around the jianghu character at this stage. Unlike HFX she has no ambition to run the world or the need to scheme to survive because of a wicked stepmother and a disinterested father....... I think aside from FC's status at that time it should be due to his epilepsy. You can see his mother basically disowned him when she finds out he has fits. And the king while still a crown prince also advised her to let him be raised by a palace maid. So he's automatically out of the running cos of his illness and perceived "weakness". There's always soooo much bad parenting going on in historical cdramas...........
