Just be ready for a slow build between them. The story’s good..both carrying different but equally painful trauma and their bond grows gradually. This is a story driven drama with some visually stunning action scenes in btw.
I don’t think the FL will annoy you, not in the way you said. I actually liked her, tho I picked the bromance lane. Some say she’s not a strong female lead, but to me she was.. just not the typical badass martial arts type ...but that’s what many expect and recognize as “strength” these days. If you’re not expecting that, you’ll probably be fine with her.
But the real magic of GJM here is that he gives just enough for us to build believable interpretations. That felt kinda new to me and it worked, imo. You’ll have people who love her relationship with the ML ..so yeah, that’s part of the drama.. but also people who are all in for the bromance. The two sides somehow don’t clash unless someone’s super picky. It’s like gjm gave us the material and said..now go build what you want to see,..lol, and it works, it holds up either way. Btw, dialogues really matter here, and gjm even uses some unusual edits to tell the story..so details count. Rewatching helps to catch stuff you might miss if you’re not paying close attention.

Haha, yeah i should have...lol...I’m not discouraged when my opinions go against the majority.... until solid n stronger arguments come along, yeah, the “diff LS bodies and diff minds” theory still doesn’t sit right with me. If we count Jiling as a doll/body which seems likely... that’s already three bodies minimum.Add more, and it gets messy fast. I can accept Jiling as a doll brought to life by magic, but not 4, 5, or 6 versions, popping in and out of existence just like that.. and living diff lives, it's just too much. At least one LS.. probably "9 to 5" ..must’ve had a normal life: was born, lived, worked. After his “death,” the simplest explanation is that he didn’t really die or was revived... not a fan of revivals, but it’s nothing new. That’s why the darker LS in the end still clearly cares for lwy.. it’s still him...LS deity was just a part, a fragment, dormant or active of this 9 to 5 version and it makes sense, its like subconscious finally surfacing and merging with the rest.. making it believable...with the other theory, you can’t just mash separate lives, memories, and feelings together with a magic trick and expect it to feel real. Deity or dragon LS never lived through what 9 to 5 LS did with lwy.. so he shouldn’t suddenly have those feelings for her. He lived a separate life, cause this theory supports it, so having this new/old dark version of LS loving lwy out of a thin air as much as "9 to 5" LS did before dying......isn't that believable..no "abracadabra" as a magic fix couldn't force it, in fantasy you still need logic, some common sense and consistency..to make it believable..

Well, they see two, but the explanation could be that only one has a real, physical body ..and the other doesn’t. Maybe it’s just a fragment of LS’s consciousness that appears visibly, as a hologram, looking real. LS also might be dormant in “9-to-5” JL’s consciousness, only taking over when needed ... like during his missions, lol, when he needs his shapeshifting powers, or when JL is unconscious, hurt, or weak, or simply hijacking LS body and taking full control over his consciousness, locking his memories along the way.
This could sound like advanced storyline variant I've seen in some sci-fi, though I’d have to check how much this kind of narrative appears in Chinese myths or xianxia..lol. Even if it's not that common it’s GJM after all.. we’ve already seen him play with these ideas in fof. Remember how Baiju’s consciousness/soul/mind was locked at the end by Lilun, who was taking control and hijacked his body...Lilun was initially dormant, appearing only when baiju was unconscious, then slowly progressing until he completely took over. The difference is that Lilun could only appear in his old form visible to others when using the "true eye"...but LS is a deity, so he might not be having such trivial limitations, lol. He could pop up out like a holographic image whenever he needs to, esp if he wanted to talk to himself, lol.
So unlike the holographic version, the icy LS (Elsa), red-braided LS, or sexy adult foxy LS fighting by the lake could all be shapeshifted forms but with real body, by simply hijacking JL’s body and consciousness fully in those moments. Ofc after JL’s death, after regaining a body once again LS now just need his shapeshifting powers. But these charc seem emotionless or low key angry, so it may be that dragon deity LS lost his heart somewhere, along the way. LwY might be aware of what’s happening, and she could be stuck dealing with a an angry, body-snatching deity LS, just like zyc had to deal with Lilun in baiju’s body. 😂 yeah, it will probably give her some serious headaches too, like zyc had in fof, but her mission could be "return the heart" to deity LS nd make him a whole once again to be conscious, healed, and fully himself in one body. Sweet task, lol and and this may be the love theme gjm wanted to tell us, with some msg "loving without a heart is impossible", lol.I like more this advanced “one body, many personality ” theory better than the simpler two bodies, two diff people” explanation. It doesn’t require anyone of these 2 to die, and the story resolves with a unified, whole person.
Alternatively, the second body could be teen Jiling or the baby fox but less advanced, maybe created by deity LS to be some temporary vessel, like a high-tech Doll Model 3000 😁, we saw it with one arm detached and on the floor with some Ikea manual/scripts assembly instruction..
Which tbh would make me sad...i love Jiling and would still cry if Jiling’s doll form was created by deity LS to be so easily disposable, serving his goals temp nd to simply vanish afterwards when no longer useful 🥺😭😭
And if the whole story turns out much simpler, hey... think i just laid the groundwork for a full-on advanced sci-fi xianxia story, that I’d still love to see it in the future..lol. If I’m even somewhat right about the “one body, diff characters” theory, then it’s a really complex one... and tbh, it could easily be messed up by gjm’s editing. It wouldn’t take much for it to slip and abandon basic logic when having multiple personalities, lol.... I’m still impressed by how many people misunderstood some key parts of the fof story and i don't even count in these stats the fans who were just busy staring at their idol’s face the whole time, lol. So if gjm tries to tell an even more complex story using his “watch for subtle details hidden in scattered dialogue and edits across 30 episodes” approach… well, the story might just fly over too many heads or end up being incomprehensible..I'm gonna save this text to see how much i got it right...at least that length of this comment should serve some purpose in the end.. 😆🤣

LS’s distant, cold behavior probably comes from parts of his consciousness being locked...or maybe it’s some magic messing with him...but the result is the same. Like, the regular “9 to 5” LS has a heart, but the icy version seems totally shut down emotionally. And LS deity form ...some scenes make him feel more like a hologram than a real physical body..I don't believe that there are two separate bodies wandering around, and here's why, split consciousness and different lived experiences within each body would cause having in the end two different versions of LS ... much like two diff people. JL, who grows to love Lwy, couldn’t be the same as a version of LS who's is cold, distant or suspicious of her, having different experiences with her...in the end one has to go. So it makes more sense that there’s one body, but with suppressed or manipulated consciousness.If LS is appearing in different forms, maybe he’s using JL’s body while he’s still alive...overtaking it briefly, locking his own memories to be able to do it or some of those moments might take place after JL’s death, when LS get his own body ..he can shapeshift due to his powers and his ring...To give the story emotional ending that would be satisfying to many is JL death, it might be what allows LS to fully return in physical form, bringing back his body with all of JL’s memories and feelings saved, so his story with lwy can continue, and learning in the end what’s needed to be learned.

I see these comments and problem i have is figuring out how real or serious they are. On drama edits, esp steamy ones..ppl often write things like “he can do that to me” or “I wouldn’t run,” lol, which I see more as playful, still just some fantasy driven reactions. So many of these comments i don't take seriously..Most of this ppl wouldn’t actually say the same if you aks them abt similar thing happening to them or sone they know irl...they’d say f'c no and run.😁 The real problem starts when that kind of thinking spills over into reality, like seeing comments defending actual criminals or excusing real abusive behavior cause a man is 🔥, that's messed up...and if they already had such desires watching these types of dramas just make them stronger, don't actually think ..,except in more rare situations that dramas by itself without any other cause could have shaped their messed up thinking..it's an argument i hear about video games, playing violent games makes you violent..well, NO😁

Aaah ok, couldn’t tell based on this reuters and haven't seen any other as well, tbh don't know what's the story is..which drama is this, i remember ppl writing she signed two, but which one is this? My comment was more in general, about this kind of trope, why it's so popular (too much imo, it's boring atp) in fantasy settings but bad if ppl start to think how this kind of dynamic is normal or even "romantic" irl. That's really messed up, and understand why some want this trope completely gone, you don't wanna such shyt seeing in reality, esp normalized, but it's up to pll imo, they need to learn to build high and strong walls btw reality and fantasy, not to blur them and mix things up.... i tend to defend fantasy and why it's necessary to leave it freely to test ideas otherwise controversial and my only advice to anyone if you really start to believe you are the one that is special enough to fix a real toxic person, go back into reality and def far away from such a toxic person...😁

I also believe in this tempered consciousness theory, unlocking the parts of consciousness as the story progresses. But there are confusing parts in this version. LS deity seems able to materialize at certain moments, he becomes visible to others talking to him..Jiling, the fox version, and JL’s regular “9 to 5” version as i call him, are vessels..def appearing in a physical form..but without full consciousness. After this version 9 to 5 version of JL dies, we’ll see LS again, which is the confusing part. How much of what those "vessels" lived and experienced and felt, especially JL’s bond with lwy gets passed on to the real LS...what’s preserved, what’s lost.. this type of stories are always super interesting, read some good sci-fi with such storytelling, but it is hard to write and keep logical. If the LS we see sometimes, like in reuters with him talking to his baby fox version, or maybe him talking to his white powerless version , are just his temporary materialization without a physical body, appering almost as holograms, LS can’t fully exist unless he creates a new vessel/body..after JL dies, or maybe after JL’s death, he can become real and take a physical form with all JL’s memories and experiences intact within him..and that can make the love story real, or otherwise it would be erased, well until the end where we see this flower boy and a girl without any memory left, starting a new story..for some it will be a HE, to some not, cause errything they've will been through will be erased..

Back to theorizing, lol🤣😁if LS is unlocking parts of his consciousness bit by bit maybe that’s why he appeared as a "dragon deity" without being one at that moment. LS who got mobbed could’ve been the " false one"... powerless and unstable...and during his breakdown, maybe it was the real LS sitting across from him, calling him a fool. Rui played LS talking to his fox baby version, we saw the reuters, so maybe here he also talked to his white version that appeared powerless..and that’s behind being "false deity" rumors..but also don't believe wsg is a true one, but saw comments that he had like horns in one of the reuters, haven't seen it, but if they were real, and not some deception by wsg, there has to be a reason for it too.

This abusive ML trope plays into a fantasy some women have ...that they’re special enough to fix a broken man and turn him soft for her. It’s a bit of a catch 22 ...are writers just reflecting this fantasy, or shaping how people think by normalizing it...I don’t mind it in fiction when it stays in fiction, fantasies feed different needs, here probably that "I'm unique" kinda desire and thinking..but the trouble starts when people blur or erase the line with reality and begin to see this as normal irl.

Tried logging in a few times over the past 4 hours, and when I got in… saw pure horror: 0 comments. Zero. Like the comment section had been wiped clean ...not a trace of any human ever been here😱😭 ..before I started spiraling..went to check one of those "is the server down" sites ... and yep, it said MDL was down. Well, hehe, diplomacy talks and the Chinese do know their diplomacy, lol. Fr, been following it for a while. Honestly, just want ppl to be mindful. We’ve seen too often how many esp the new names twist every little line into full-blown accusations against the entire Rui or Yanan fandom. Wendy even slipped into a prophetic trance, lol, predicting how every fan will act and speak in the future - all bad, ofc. Casue in her mind they are just bad ppl, and these fans misuse everything said about bromance, to twist, and turn against the whole fandoms... even when it’s respectful insisting, “No, we’re just…” then turning around to bash.

I’m all for expressing preferences, and we should...but there’s a better way to share excitement. Even if it was meant as a joke, crossing out one actor’s name to replace it with another wasn't the best idea... many better ones out there...I’m sure you’ve been online long enough to judge how that might come across, and a bit of thought about potential results before posting wouldn’t hurt. It goes for all. By this... I don’t mean you shouldn’t say what you want to see in vos.. feel free as any of us should...it’s more about... how you delivered it. We can all share likes and dislikes with just the right tone... it’s not hard.
