The editing and pacing worked really well, doing something I don’t often see done this well... presenting so many moving pieces in such a simple, clear way that in just 45 mins we already learn so much about Hao Wen’s life, personality, and how he handles challenges. His life awards were few and far below average....yet he always saw life as a half-full glass. He embraced the sudden success, tho not entirely the bad side... like the fake stats and paid "fans" backing it up, while still enjoying a level of success... luxury and lifestyle he’d never experienced before..Enjoying it all in his own way cause we were shown it mostly didn’t change his core personality. The fact that he bought fries, of all the food he could suddenly afford...shows the old Hao Wen is still there...or how he found his own inexpensive but thoughtful way to celebrate his childhood sweetheart birthday... Btw..Jia Bing is killing this role, so natural good actor.
The comedy is my kind....sarcastic often engh but delivered casually... like it’s simply part of the Hao Wen package. Like when he said as a narrator of his own life....how he was also into real estate business, only for the camera to cut to landlords chasing him for overdue rent😭😂 and to show absurdity of his words so casually....it had me dying😁
His first meeting with Bei Fan wasn’t the usual one where the leads meet in a way that immediately tells you how important their dynamic will be. Bei Fan was annoying with his camera, taking his perfect shots, only to proceed without any reservations or etiquette and stuff Hao Wen with his food. 😂 and while so childishly proud of what he saw as his extremely successful mission....Hao Wen brushed him off as an annoying paid fake fan and was even brutally questioning his normality🤣So nothing about this short ordeal gave any reason to expect these two .. each in their own worlds...would ever meet again... let alone how much they might change each other😂
