The plot keeps fcking changing! And the leads keep dying ?

So, finished watching this cdrama, and… I have no idea why people glaze this drama so much. I’m so disappointed about all that unnecessary mumbo jumbo that went on in the first 20 episodes, allat could’ve been a email, just for the plot to change almost twice after the 20th episode. In fact, the drama could’ve just started from the 20th episode and nobody would complain. That’s how insignificant the first 19 - 20 episodes are.

The first 20 episodes were so bad, with the poor world building, like half of the time I had no idea what was going on. All of the spells, the magic and whatnot seemed so half assed. The pacing was bad, the romance was so boring, I also got pissed at the way the male lead failed to respect our fl’s boundaries. The female lead was pretty much a side character in her own story during the first 20 episodes.

They did a bunch of bs until the 20th episode and suddenly changed their mind. Like I was so close to dropping the series, but oh? Suddenly they start a new arc, where we focus more on the female lead. they change the plot once more after the 28th episode. Like istg the writers COULD NOT make up their damn mind.

Like, this drama had insane potential, but it ended up being all over the place. The execution ways sooo bad, the story got soo boring, like it was so difficult to finish the drama. Also, I wish they’d get a better actor for the male lead, imo, the actor sucked at expressing emotions, he has like one expression all the time 😭. That aside I love the yin-yang references, and the male lead’s character development was peak (but they threw allat away in the final arc 💔)

Overall, first half is shit, second arc is mid, final arc was unnecessary. Don’t recommend, cute but really lack luster.

Not confusing, just beautifully written.

So, I just finished watching adwad. And all I’ve gotta say, every single character is truly exceptional. From all the leads to even the most minor characters. A well written tranmigration story, that’s an absolute must watch. Truly makes you question cliches you’d usually read in a regular story. Are these characters all what they seem to be? Fuh no, and that’s exactly what this drama proves ✨

I love how the villain of this drama, is literally the script itself, so well thought omg. Characters, especially the male lead is written so carefully and with such care, I’m astonished. All he does is care, he’s smart, and good god, he is so resilient and tenacious, any dumb potato will empathize for him. And can I tell you how much I love the female lead? It’s always the fl being mistreated and never her having dignity and self respect for herself. My poor babies went thru soo much 😭. Her family is just so adorable, they’re the icons of the Jin dynasty lmao.

The pacing, perfect. The story, mesmerizing, the humor? Phenomenal! I must admit, there is a bit of a pacing problem during episode 20 - 30, but nonetheless the pinnacle of its trope. I truly commend the way they’ve written the characters in this story, there’s no side character, all of them have their charms and are their own main character in their own way. and the humor never fails to crack me up, the humor never felt forced, it came so naturally!

And the ending? My goodness, a work of art. Melodramatic, yet truly utilizes the whole transmigration cliche. The drama is a must watch, for all the rom-com, drama and action fans who love c dramas. This drama is the definition of your destiny is what you define it to be, infact you are your fate. Do not sleep on this drama, it is soooo worth it! (I usually don’t rate dramas so high)

Perfect Rom com fantasy- But characters are the real highlight!

This drama’s totally worth it! Amazing characters, beautifully written, all of them no matter how small are significant to the plot. Plot twists are crazy! Romance is a slow burn that melted me with it 🫠. Such a witty, smart and charming female lead! She’s simply badasss, such a refreshing character istg. I must say, I LOVE THE FEMALE RELATIONSHIPS in this story! The plot is so good, I quite love the male lead too. The pacing is slow, but i never once got sick of it. Even the side couples were chef’s kiss. And OMG the visuals are INSANE 😍. The cast is amazing, fl’s actress is crazy good ant what she does. The ending is just soo precious 🥹.

The one sided love with 2nd male lead is killing me 😣. I love a yearner, but they turned him into a watered down ver of Chu Zhao. Fu Yue deserved WAYYY better. I hate how dramas always turn 2nd male leads into obsessive freaks- i wish they continued with that sweet melodramatic friendship. They could never make me hate you Situ Ling 😕. Although some of the plot points were a bit over used, they did try their best to make the best possible ver of a story with such plot. BUT other than these few complains- it still stands out, exceptionally. Def recommend!

Temu ver of Princess Royal

Honestly, it’s a mini drama that spoke way more of a message in just 24 episodes (all 10 min), than your regular drama. Plot is pretty solid, cliche and overused, but not horrible. Pacing is rather quick, almost all misunderstandings are resolved after the first 15 episodes.

But imo, the female lead saves the story, my heart goes out to her, poor baby suffered so so much. she is what makes this drama stand out. She is beautifully written, resilient and oh so extremely brave. The way the actor depicted the fl’s trauma was simply perfection. She is such a badass, and I love the subtle mentions of feminism.

She is so patient and forgiving, which leads me to feel extreme disappointment for the male lead. He’s short sighted, and failed to understand the female lead’s pov. He was a plain bitch during the first half of the drama, and safe to say, he did have a redemption arc. Ngl thou, he’s mad smart.

That aside, the actor did such a great job playing the character, he’s got that pathetic pretty boy gaze. I love the actress as well!

Overall, I don’t really recommend, but it gets over quickly. Almost like watching a movie. But there are better dramas to watch other than this one. “The princess decree”, is nothing special… Good ending.
