One thing I'm kinda confused about. Xie yanlai's half sister was the crown princess right? So that makes him the maternal uncle to the emperor. In one scene, the emperor referred him as uncle and ran towards him. He seemed more comfortable with xie yanlai than xie yanfang. So my question is, how did xiao yu knew it was his uncle when he didnt recognise xie yanfang at first glance? Wasn't xie yanlai away from home and working under general chu? Also he was ill treated by his family so him being close to his nephew who happens to be the imperial grandson seems odd.. Unless xiao yu spended time with him after becoming the emperor? Can novel readers tell me pls?
