Actually when I watched this for the first time I had the majority of the opinions here. Like everyone says that the female lead is dumb and naive. Even I hated her because of that. Now I have watched for the3rd time and I can say that Xuan ji loves sifeng as much as he loves him but everyone around her manipulating her mind. Specially hao Chen and sometimes her father. They used her love for them to blackmail her. And when she deeply trust sifeng eventhough what they says something horrible happens. Like when sifeng became the demon infront of everyone untill the last moment she believed him. And in the mingxia cave when he became star of mosha to protect her still she believed him untill he said that all of the feelings were fake. And when they were attacking the lize palaca sifeng wanted them to retreat and xuanji agreed cuz to save the other where after seeing the desciples of lize palace being hurt sifeng continued the fight. So what I understand was with everything going on she couldn’t believe him. But still sifeng did everything just for her.
