Presently a college student. Youtube is to thank for my obsession.  I had  some experience with dubbed anime before as a kid( Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Ojamajo/Magical  Doremi. But I watched my first (non dubbed) anime TV series, Angelic Layer in 2010 on that platform.  Followed by the original version of Doremi, Cardcaptor  Sakura,etc.  Then somewhere between  that year and 2012 I watched a Thai movie, Crazy Little Thing Called Love. For some reason, I loved it so much I watched it 3 more times and made my mom watch it too.  The rest is very fuzzy, but I think I went from that,  to Filipino rom coms and watched nearly everything Kathniel(love team) that I could get my hands on( subs were hard for me to find).Then I went from Korean rom coms to  Kdramas. in 2015. Healer was the first drama that I managed to finish.  I've been obsessed since then.
