In the japanese version, ML was part of a gang and later on, the leader threatened ML with harming FL, if ML doesn't take part in a fight (the fight is just a punishment for leaving gang life)
In the korean one, ML wasn't part of a gang, but to get money for FL's surgery, ML took part in an illegal fight.
The endings differ as well, and personally I liked the japanese one better. The endings themselves are a bit short and I don't want to spoil them. Either way, they get their happy ending.
I watched both versions (japanese and korean) simultaneously and personally, I liked the japanese version better. Nonetheless, I'd recommend to watch both.
Here is why: I especially loved the acting of the japanese actress. Plus, overall, I could emotionally connect better with the japanese actors per se. And I liked the little difference in the storyline in the japanese version better (see spoiler), as well as the japanese ending, even though both end versions were too short (in my opinion). BUT I'd recommend to watch both, because in the first half of the japanese movie, I was glad to fall back on the korean one, cause it explained some parts of the plot a little bit better.
I don't want to discuss about why using titles like d/s or master/slave is unnecessary labeling in this case.…
You know, I'm too tired to do this. Read the comment board to answer your questions. I don't get people thinking Mizuki is like an evil ruler or something and blame him for everything. Those two are adults, just for your information. Relationship means at least two people are involved. But as you didn't even read my first message properly, I don't think there's a point to discuss further. It's sad that you don't get it, I tried to help out and told you my opinion. If it isn't your kind of thing, just let it be and look for something else.
This is genuinely a well-acted and well-directed series, with nuance and hidden allegorical meaning speckled in…

But to the why does he love him: Yoh is different not only to Mizuki, but to everyone else as well. He's honest, he doesn't really care about fitting in (see: staring at Mizuki even when everyone is talking about how weird he is, or walking in snail tempo, even though the group is waiting for their drinks etc. He doesn't want to please or put up a facade like Mizuki is used to do) He's calm and observant and therefore he seems able to see parts of Mizukis, nobody else has. He's caring about Mizuki and trys his best (like cooking curry for Mizuki without beeing especially close to him) I could go on and on about those two, I think there are more than enough clues. (and please, I know enough of people who'd just fall for his looks - _- but I want to make a different point, I hope it came through) Personally, as a viewer of the show, I had enough clues to like him, why shouldn't Mizuki?
And let me help you clear something up: Mizuki doesnt caring for Yoh's job isn't the message. The message is I just care about you, you don't have to work or stress yourself, I'll care for you anyway.
Plus, he saw Yoh's smile for the first time, and that's probably the moment he realized he hasn't seen it before.
I’m sorry but I disagree with what ppl are saying , yes it’s fetishy but it’s on a whole new level , not…
I agree, the chemistry is definitely on another level. And I think the actors are doing an awesome job expressing themselves even without talking! Just look at Mizukis micro expressions!!
The original source is the light novel after which is adapted into manga. Both the anime and the live action basically…
Oh wow, thank you very much, that helps a lot!!! I started with the anime, so it's good to know that the novel is far ahead. I'll definitely look it up :)
Sooo, I also had no clue about the original source. But after watching, I really want to dig a little deeper into this universe. I feel like the movie was a bit rushed and would have loved to see an 8 episode series or something. And what's with the scene after the credits? I just need mooooore!?!
Well anyways, even though lots of things were confusing (and I needed to watch the whole movie to make at least some sense of it), the romance was sweet, the characters were loveable and well played and the setting was awesome. In my opinion, it's worth watching. And now, I'll go look for the anime or some deeper info about the basic storyline XD
So one of the leads final scenes is where they draw on each other's eyebrows, and it just felt really weird to…
Personally, I think it probably stands for a loving marriage (in comparison to a political or strategic one) . It's kind of an intimate act (being this close to each others face) and shows how much they trust and care for one another (especially, when you think about traditional gender roles, and how they don't mind them at all) . I saw this in another drama as well.
Sooo.. This is my conclusion after binge watching 40 eps: I don't care about the typical "who'll be the next heir" thing (with the typical cliché plot lines) at all. Therefore, the last 10 eps were especially dragging.. And hnestly, I'd rather saw ML and FL traveling the world, fighting evil.
BUT I love this series nonetheless, cause its just an epic romance! I absolutely love how devoted and perfect and well matched and loyal they are to each other. This aspect of the drama couldn't have been more perfect ❤️❤️❤️
I'm just so tired of father's overlooking family matters like evil concubines/new wives and stepsons trying to…
"oh my son, you aren't sick? Let me help you out and beat you half to death with wooden blanks. Oh and that's not enough, let's have some nice poison to stop your inner force as well" Sorry, but I just can't stop ranting with this one.. (differences in punishments is a standard as well.. - _-) it's just so unreasonable.. I wish they'd choose another drama line to show ML suffer - _-
I'm just so tired of father's overlooking family matters like evil concubines/new wives and stepsons trying to kill other family members. It's starting to get on my nerves. I mean it seems like it's an absolute must do plot in historical dramas, and I just hate it so much - _- (nonetheless, I love this drama. But I just had to rant for a while)
I believe this is an awesome drama! But honestly, my heart couldn't stand the pain of ML T_T I began liking his character too much and had to drop the drama, for I really couldn't stand it to keep watching him suffer.. Just take it as a compliment to his wholesome acting and the storyline. I hope someday my heart will be up to watch till the end T_T♥️
