Is it just me or does the drama sometimes feel chopped or missing or mixing bits and pieces? Don’t get me wrong I’m really enjoying it but sometimes it feels off.

Definitely not the only one. She is like 26 and super childish. I was really annoyed by her when she crashed the car. And then later she was so worried she would have to pay for the repairs when ML was slapped by FL. And left her best friend waiting in the rain for a man. Immature, gossipy en childish.
But after today’s episode I thought maybe I was a bit harsh and she as a character is the victim of editing. Because we never see her professionally. I’ve seen her in a uniform once or twice but never in action. Maybe they cut a lot of her scenes and we only got to see the scenes wich are important for the MC storyline. Even her story with Lu Ming was short and rushed. And his story and how she came to know of it, all is short or totally missing. Even the how isn’t properly explained. Just some words in her speech to him.
Editing is off with the preview scenes between opening OST and episode titles also.

Saw ep 11 today on Viki.

1:38 Preview begins with FL coming home drunk. She has a flashback of herself with mom when she was a child. She, as a child, saw a man giving her mom a (for me: non romantic, akward) hug.
2:42 Episode 11 titel (Happy Birthday *3), show begins.
16:57 FL comes home drunk from Fly. Same clothes so for me feels like same scene as preview. But in contrary to earlier episode the preview is not completely repeated. Instead we get ML helping FL get home while she drunkenly talks about her mom.

I really think they wanted to be creative in editing but it isn’t very consistent en (for me) it turned out confusing.

Last weekend I watched all eps of TES so far out. This weekend I binged all episodes aired this week. I’m still hooked but I don’t know if I will have the power to wait an entire week again. And, same with this drama, you have to be really careful with social media. Spoilers and previews are everywhere. And those are almost always the best scenes of the show. When you already saw them it makes the drama look flat when it isn’t.

But I agree the drama’s cutting en editing feels weird sometimes.

I saw those comments about the novel. But for me it’s not about the initial misunderstanding. It’s about being an adult and a mother. If your child is suddenly mad, ignoring you or otherwise out of the ordinary (I don’t know yet because we’re not there yet) it’s your job to get to the bottom of it and trying to maintain a connection. Leaving for some great opportunity, divorcing, getting remarried, raising, caring and loving an other child then your own are choices you make. For me the fact that photographer girl doesn’t even know FL as the daughter of her ‘mom’ says it all. Giving money and crashing parties isn’t love it’s buying of and handling out of guilt. So in my book with what we know so far mom is irredeemable. But I bet that’s not how the story goes…

If you are just starting show it really is a spoiler. Even if it turns out inevitable because you don’t know that either!

When you watch while not totally attentive or doing something else at the same time (me) you will likely miss the showing of the eps title because it shown for under 2 seconds. It was confusing for me before I knew that there is some kind of scene preview stuck between opening en title. I really don’t see the point in adding that!

8:12 One day to Z101’s inaugural flight on TV screen in meeting room. Crew with Captain Yue passes by. Captain Fan calls FL to join them. They inspect the plain.

Followed by scene FL and SML in car. Friends text FL about celebrating tomorrow.

Next scene is FL and ML in elevator. ML brings up inaugural flight tomorrow (no drinking).

Then the scene Captain Yue and purser are talking about coming back from Spain.

Either the subtitles are wrong or incomplete or we are missing context (maybe they came back that morning and went straight to work) but the timeline doesn’t ad up!

I know! Ep 10 could be that dropping it ep for me. I found it really boring focusing on other couples. I don’t get that they have multiple couples in a 24 ep drama and they also want to tell us about aviation. If I could watch another ep directly there would be a chance they hooked me again. But I will have to wait till tomorrow to see if I’m still into this.

EP 5/24.00 Meeting where purser finds out FL is a pilot not a waitress. Secret boyfriend is attending to.

So that a clear timeline. But I think I know what’s making you confused. Every episode starts with a glimpse in the future. That is set between the opening (OST with animation) and the title of the episode (also animated).

For example in ep 4/1:39 you see the purser and her stewardess friend going to Fly bar to see the FL as a waitress. FL and friend leave in friends new car. 2:21 episode title (A Big Liar Indeed!) 2:23 real start ep. Scene at Fly bar actually happens at 16:26.

Does make explanation make sense?

Two eps to get us hooked. Then 1 ep to make the drama last longer. Especially with 24 eps in total the running time is really short otherwise. I can explain but I hate it too!!!

Here here! I know the FL is harsh. And she probably is with her mom. But no matter what ‘misunderstanding’ there is between them mom had to be the adult in holding on to her daughter. But the mom went, got married and raised and cared for an other girl. Judging from her reaction the other girl doesn’t know she had a daughter or at least doesn’t know FL is her daughter. That means she isn’t mentioned in the new happy family. Again even if the FL has a misunderstanding about/with mom, mom isn’t showing any kind of love of persistence in wanting to have a relationship. And sending money isn’t love or a relationship. It’s buying of guilt.

Ep 10 MC recap: the ML said one sentence to the FL to wich she replied ‘Oh’. The end.
