I think the cringe(if anyone feels) is mostly due to prejudice and being overly judgmental when a viewer already has a fixated image of an idol showing a new side as an actor. I didn't feel that with KD's acting at all. I actually thought it was pretty good. His eyes were impressively expressive and that's a quality hard to have even for some well experienced actors out there. And the way he carried out the dialogues was actually quite natural and refreshing: it sounded real and portrays the character well. I especially liked that he did not have super polished or exaggerated speech tone like a stage actor or a radio host which can sound conventional or even outdated for HD screen era. He has not shown anything overly emotional yet since the show only has 4 ep came out with light hearted start and there was no scene required to show intense emotion yet. I am looking forward to seeing how he carries out more of emotional side as the story develops and intensified
