Main reason that ML hasn't totally given himself to sprit spring and turn dark is FL. Without his loving memories of FL, it's easy for them to turn him to bad side again (like in his childhood) Maybe uncle thinks like that and erases his memories to plot more as he mentioned to SY he needs sprit spring and demons child for time reversal or whatever they have to do. This is just my guess.
