I saw a few spicy MVs based on this movie and hence wanted to watch. In that regard it was a bit disappointing, because I kinda expected more, but what is there is rather elegant and visually interesting like those underwater shots. Even the screenshots I see kinda make me think maybe I got some cut version? Not that that was the most important part haha. So the story seems rushed, but very interesting, I feel like I this should be a series to explain Mermaid world, the dragons and the missing Eagles. I have a crazy theory about this flashing eagle sword that it was also someone's lover's doing just like mc Merman did for the minister. The subs I had were apparently not very good, because the mc's wife called him "brother" to completely confuse me with her jealousy later. I even thought that she fell for the Merman. Two princesses - it totally makes sense. And what bugged me was - what terrible wigs, why why why. But the unexpected ending... I don't know if they are really just bad cheap wigs or was it planned like this, but I lean towards the plan and I love it. Considering time and all, I think it is maybe 7 with a minus, but I do hope that someone can just take it and make a great magic series. Thailand, Korea, Taiwan, anyone? 😅

I started watching these series when I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep, and since so many people commented it was boring, I thought it would be perfect to help me. On the contrary! I ended up watching it all night and was nearly late for work in the morning. And still I couldn't bring myself to watch the last episode and was putting it off for a few days, because I expected some serious drama. Summaries that say this is two exes getting back together are wrong - it is so much more! This is not your typical K-drama where you expect a pretty female lead to act childlike while two rich and handsome men fight for her and solve all her problems. This is deep and serious, and filled with doubts and petty things and emotions we all deal with sometimes. Inferiority complex is real, feeling of failure in terms of financial success is very much girls' problem too. It's so refreshing to see a talented woman who is not obsessed with the idea of finding a rich husband and have kids for a change! She is doing her best at the very verge of physical effort. This is the first time in Korean series that I see a woman who's hair isn't perfectly styled or even washed (although she is beautiful of course). I would dare say that 3 female characters are rather feminist, because their life isn't orbiting around the idea of a family. They don't give up after failed relationships or businesses. I was especially touched by the story of origami artist. I know maybe most missed her character at all, but this is a character who has a passion in life, something that she loves and finds deep meaning in, and literally everyone around her just don't get it. This is a story of true loneliness and great love that she harbors, but it doesn't even involve another person, it is ultimate loneliness of someone who has so much to share and no one to share it with, no support. When she was making Buddha faces I almost cried. Sometimes there is nothing you can do, so you try to find support in the face of a paper god. This touched me so deeply... Girl, I FEEL YOU. Whoever wrote this, hear me - I FEEL YOU! And this vacuum of loneliness between so many people, who aren't even mean or bad to you, they just don't get you, they look at you, but just don't really see you. For all the lonely creators out there - you are not alone even though sometimes it might feel that way. Or most of the time. The main storyline is also great story of two adults that have their own insecurities, and love. The petty jealousy of the main lead is hilarious to watch but also veery relatable. The friend who cared enough to almost beat his best friend up so he would stop damaging his health is so touching too - everyone deserves a best friend like that! And they all exhaust themselves in their work, despite very different results.
This line towards a video channel "thank you for being a dear friend to me all these lonely nights when I had hard time"... I am totally quoting this wrong, but oh... Thank you all content creators that help me to not stay alone in the screaming silence of my thoughts during those sad and lonely moments. Thank you for your support and moments of shared friendship that you offer even though we will never know each other's names or even faces. This very series was exactly that for me! This story is mood! How inspiring this is to do your thing despite failure, despite the lack of support from your family, partners, friends, or anyone at all. I loved it so much it made me cry, but you know, a good cry, very touching. I will absolutely recommend to watch it to everyone, even though I know not many people will get it.
And I must confess that main male lead... he is so gorgeous he looks regal! I have a crush and I hope someone stars him in a costume fantasy drama where he would play a deeply troubled emperor, duke of someone aristocratic, but like evil with a great backside story, and of course there needs to be a great love storyline too. I have so many ideas I think I should start writing it.

Lucifer originally was Lucifiel, which literally means "the light of God" and Bible calls him the most beautiful and the most beloved angel. Before the fall that is, but I doubt the fall affected his looks. That's original Biblical lore. Could be great BL drama if you ask me 😅

The main "Whyyyyy?" For me personally is why am I still watching this if I find all the stuff so disappointing? And yet here we are. I told my friend the other day that it's now to see more Prom in stockings show 😅😅😅

Okay, so Top stole Sand's boyfriend, and altho I personally think it takes two to tango, so Boeing is 50% guilty here, and still it was Mew who made Sand make up with Top, forgive him, become friends, even though they never were to begin with, and even made them kiss. All the while he made Boston fail to graduate from the university claiming this is because Boston did something to Atom, which was cleared later wasn't true or his fault. Mew never said he was sorry. Little bit (a lot, huge) bias here, don't you think? If he truly was his friend, he would believed him in the first place.
I read somewhere that Mew was supposed to be this truly dark horse character, but director toned it down last moment and changed Mew to be sort of sweet virgin, which makes him half baked character in my opinion. It would be so much more interesting to watch.

@Lucid, @loubug1012 put it perfectly - Top only originally wanted Mew because he was a virgin, while Mew didn't want to have sex without being in love. Top fell for Mew for real and cheated on him with Boston, and sort of suffered for it. Which is exactly what happens with Teena/Zoey - Teena wanted Zoey because he was a virgin, then he fell in love with Zoey, and still sort of cheated on him with Nont. You might say that Nont isn't Zoey's friend, but Teena didn't know it was a different person, plus we can argue if Boston was really Mew's friend, because Mew never cared for Boston and played him really bad in the end. And in both cases - Top/Mew and Teena/Zoey it is never clear why these two characters that have zero overlap in interests or lifestyle or anything at all even fall for each other. To me their relationship isn't believable even for one bit.

Prom/Nont is Sean/White because both Nont and White come into a friend group to investigate what happened to their missing twin who is very different from them, everyone keeps questing them because they don't act like their twin and don't know of any events, and then they both end up warming up to a relationship with local bad guy, where they live happily ever after as a couple (Prom/Nont will get there, I bet).
While virgin kink is rather common irl, hence there can be a lot of stories about that even around you, how many missing twin situation are there? It is either taken from Not me or some Bollywood drama lol.
Oh and although stockings on Prom are an absolute highlight of these series and probably most of BL series I watched, the hiking tent in the abandoned building sex is looks pretty kinky from how I see it 😁

Not Only friends as series, but particularly Top/Mew story. And no I don't want it on 0.75, because I don't want to prolong my suffering 🤣

After 4 episodes of this gigantic nonsensical mess I feel this is like Witcher writers with their timeline denial are trying to make stuff by mashing Only Friends with Not me.
Don't tell me you didn't notice how Teena/Zoey is Top/Mew and Prom/Nont is Sean/White. I am okay with fanfiction, and yes I know my kinks and watch one and the same tropes, but this looks like a rip-off, not just the same trope, and I don't mean it in a good way. It's like a kaleidoscope of random scenes like in a music video, with idea behind it but no real plot or storytelling. And what are these godawful underwear jumpers like French circus weightlifters from past century??
And whoever is making subtitles for us poor foreign viewers, can you please slow them down a bit? I have to rewind and stop to read sometimes.

Ahahah, spot on the NC scenes! If actors aren't okay doing those or even kissing, write those off or get different actors. Really great love stories can be told without NC scenes. This wasn't the one anyway.
