So well said and I agree. It is so hard for me to sympathize with the mom - she is self-pitying herself and playing victim - she is capable of going to work and helping out but she isn’t. Her kids are grown - what does she do all day long? Instead of looking for solutions she just cries and whines then vents her anger out on everyone. I couldn’t stand it - I would have moved out a long time ago.

She does want it - her daughter having a “good marriage” I.e - wealthy man, means she, the mom, will also have a better life via her daughter. So yes, the mom absolutely wants that money. She may say it is for her daughter’s own good but deep down it is for her own selfish need to not have to worry about anything again - or so she believes. But I guarantee that even if she had money, she would still be complaining and find fault with everything because she is not happy - mom needs to evaluate herself and find out why she is so miserable and then work on being a better person.

And misery loves company along the way. Describes the mom perfectly.

She doesn’t take anyone’s feeling into account - only hers matter! She throws these pity parties for herself and takes her anger out on everyone. I really hate the “woe is me” attitude. She has a lot to be thankful for but she isn’t.

I’ve been wondering the same. She worked when she had her son - didn’t see him for 6 years! So what is stopping her from working now?

Seriously true! The mom is just a miserable person. Instead of counting her blessings she just is hateful and takes it out on everyone.

I always give until ep 4-5 because that is typically when things get interesting.

I think anyone with half a brain would not move or touch a dead body that they happen up on. Most people would be scared when encountering a dead body.

I recently finished My Wonderful World and was just flabbergasted at the way they just paraded their affair out in the open and then ex-husband proceeded to be upset when his ex was moving on with someone who truly loved her and treated 1000% better than him and the cheating mistress then trying to even get with ex-wife's new BF. I just shook my head. J- dramas seem to think infidelity is something to be proud of as well - I have dropped a lot of them because of that.

Not really - I had a daily drama that if I could have given it a zero for the writing I would have. Unfortunately you have to rate at least a one. And yes, the script was that bad. The cast was awesome but that writer really needs to just quit writing. I wont watch anything she writes again.

I am confused with the scheduling here - I am reading that there are 3 eps a week - Mon, Tues, Wed - and that today episode 13 was supposed to air - but we are waiting for 15....how did we get 2 eps ahead of the schedule?

ugh, i thought there was an episode today and was so disappointed to see there isn't one until tomorrow. I stopped at ep 10 because i dont want to get too far ahead and then have to wait but i think i may just catch up - I am waiting anyway. LOL

Her mom doesn't see how rich she is with a family that loves her despite her terrible comments towards them. I get the poverty thing but that is no excuse to talk to her husband the way she does nor is it an excuse to interfere in your kids' lives. I can't wait to see how she will react to her precious son wanting to be with Mao - a divorcee with a child. She is going to go nuclear. Sorry, I have a hard time sympathizing with her because her attitude stinks. Money isn't everything. The Xin family is rich in money but poor in love, her family is rich in love but poor in money, but she can't see those two things. She berates and belittles her husband but at least he is faithful and loyal to her, unlike JL's father. She should be counting her blessings instead of sticking her nose where it doesn't belong and causing more problems. There was absolutely no reason for her to go talk to Yao at her workplace - I would be so embarrassed and so angry at my mom if she did that (but my mom knows better and she will never do anything like that). Her mom just doesn't know when to stop. Trust me, I get poverty - I get not having money but they are not that bad off - they have money to buy food and pay their rent. Her mom has been a bit of a tightwad and like the pipes bursting - she has let things go because she doesn't want to spend the money- they saved to put their kids through college so they obviously had extra money left over to save - I can't even afford to do that. Her character is just very unlikable to me. You don't need to belittle someone to get your opinion across - then she acts all innocent and "Oh, are you mad? I didn't mean it that way" - no, you DID mean it or you wouldn't have said it. She doesn't get a pass from me.

She is constantly nitpicking and berating the husband. He doesn't react because she does it all the time. Then says "Oh i didn't mean it." Like i said in another comment - words have impact. He isn't incompetent - he is unconfident - because of her.

Because prenups are insulting and you are pretty much admitting the marriage won't last. Marriage is about trust and commitment - prenups are the antithesis of that.

She IS status hungry. You can't force your children to marry wealthy. And that is what she is trying to do. No matter your circumstances growing up or through your life, you can't make those issues or problems and hardships fall onto the way you treat your children. Of course you want the best for your kids, but being wealthy isn't always the best. She can't see what a gem of a family she has in front of her. Look at JL's family - they have money, yes, but they are all unhappy and miserable people - not to mention hateful. Why would you want your child to marry into a family like that just so they can be well off? That isn't what is best for MCH. Mom needs to chill and take a backseat and stop interfering. She keeps making things worse because she is sticking her nose in where it doesn't belong.
