After hearing about today’s episodes I am seriously either going to drop it or just wait for it to be done then just binge so I can FF through the train wreck. How do 2 people date for a WHOLE year and never once discuss their families? I think a lot of us are forgetting that MR started her crush on JH when she was in grade school. She mentions it’s been about 15 years and she is 27 - so she was around 12 years old - he would have been 20 years old. He was already an adult as she is 8 years younger than him.He has lived in the US since college - that is pointed out in the very first episodes - due to his hatred of his father. He comes back to Korea about once a year for his mom’s death anniversary. So MR has had very little exposure to this guy. Why everyone talks about how close they were is beyond me - he was an ADULT and she was a kid - even if she followed him around while he still lived there in Korea there would have been no interactions between them on a close friendship level. She wasn’t in LOVE with him, she had a Crush that manifested into a worship of some kind She basically put him on a pedestal - she didnt even really know him as a person - how could she when she was never round him much as an adult? Nope, this was more like a hero type worship than love so it isnt surprising it didnt work out - he is not the person she had built him up to be in her mind.
