I agree, the cast and the characters is what made the series enjoyable, especially since the show seems to be more character driven than plot driven, which makes sense why the plot was not anything outstanding but still fun and interesting to keep you watching.
They had such little screentime but made such a impact on the show. Fans are loving them and who can blame them.…
VegasPete really outshined everyone with their unique and captivating story. The way their love bloomed unexpectedely. They found love where it was not supposed to be making it even more intense. It was an unprecedented feeling for the both of then and Vegas let himself get carried away because he starved for that affection.
I need a whole series focused on them but for now I hope we can get a special episode.

Totally agree, characters like Vegas and Draco can not help but draw you in and their interactions with People like Pete and Harry make their dynamic really appealing to the audience, or at least us lol
hmm π, I like your guess, I think you are right, maybe also people who are sensitive deep down and strong spirited but need to find comfort or healing too.
Not us realizing things out of nowhere because of characters we like π
Maybe that's off topic but I started to wonder for some reason...Any chance of having some Draco x Harry pairing…
β I am here, I should have seen the signs, the fact that Draco is my favorite in Harry Potter series and I love Vegas should tell something about me π
I can totally see what you are talking about. Both Draco and Vegas are pressured by the need to meet their father's expectations while Harry hides his pain.
I also love stories about broken souls meeting and healing each other, there is something so heartwarming that lies beneath the pain.
I love VegasPete story from the novel but I think I like the serie's version a bit more. I love how they maintained the dark atmposhere but they changed their dynamic by adding more depth to Pete's character. Despite the limited screentime they managed to show all the stages their relationship went through. From the inequality in their relationship, to the pain, to regret to the denial and finally the acceptance that led to love . It is obvious that the complexity of their story does not give it the capacity to be told properly in only 4 episodes, therefore it feels rushed but still manages to capture the essence of their unique story and convey it to the audience.
I like the adaptation because it is like a different version of the original, as it was altered and grew into its own thing but at the same time it still manages to capture the feeling of the source material.
I love Pete in the novel but in the series I adore him as he is one of the most complex characters in it. Pete's optimism from the novel was given to Pete in the series as an exterior he created to hide his pain while his others traits were explored further giving him depth. By also changing his backstory they created the perfect parallel to Vegas.
In the novel Pete becomes Vegas's light thanks to his optimistic and bright view on the world, but since that view of his does not exist in the series, instead of becoming his light he joins Vegas in his darkness providing him comfort. Pete does not guide Vegas to the light and Vegas does not drug Pete down into his darkness. Pete is hiding behind the walls he created to seperate himself from his surroundings while Vegas is sinking into his darkness . When those two met their words collided. As a result Vegas' darkness pierced through Pete's walls slowly causing them to crumble until Pete was exposed and presented to a new unknown path beyond his safe zone, beyond his walls. The feeling of uncertainity and exposure made him withdraw and he started building his walls out of fear that Vegas' darkness will consume him and tear him apart. He wanted to kill that part of him that caught a glimpse outside his walls but the damage had already been done. The feeling of exposure was unfamiliar yet euphoric. He felt human once again and not like an empty shell. He was, however not ready to accept those feelings and the pain that could come with it, since feeling like a human comes with all types of emotions, positive or negative and that includes pain.
During the war Pete realized that the pain of losing Vegas is far greater, unbearable even compared to the pain Vegas gave him. He pointed his gun towards him unable to shoot and only shot him to protect him, he punched him out of his frustration for loving the person that hurt him the most. Seeing Vegas completely vulnerable and lost made Pete realize that he would rather crumble down his walls rather than be the one to crumble by losing Vegas. He finally accepted his feelings and found the courage to step outside his walls ready to explore that unknown path in front of him with Vegas by his side. Vegas however had lost everything that revolved around his reality moments ago making him feel lost and not confident in himself to lead Pete anywhere. That is why he tried pushing him away only to realize later that Pete is willing to walk on that path with Vegas only and no one else. Pete is willing to accept Vegas' enitre being , even the pain that comes with him because without him he is numb. He prefers to feel human and accept any emotion that comes with it, but the only one who has that affect on him is Vegas. No one else can tear down his walls and make him feel seen.
On the other hand, Vegas is more selfless in the series compared to the novel. At least when it comes to his feelings for Pete. At first he was desperate to hold on to Pete and the feelings of bliss he felt because of him, putting his needs above Pete's. But, after Pete's escape he never put his own needs above Pete. In the novel during the war he asked Pete if there was any chance he would choose him over the main family. In the series he never made Pete choose, he just confessed his feelings expecting nothing in return. It was Pete that chose out of his own accord to stand by Vegas' side. Vegas even tried to push him away because he could not stand the pain he caused him, he hated himself for hurting the only person that saw beyond his evil mask and he hated himself for failing to prove his worth to his father once again. He felt that he did not have anything to give to Pete. He knew that there are people out there who can take better care of him but none of that matters to Pete, because Pete chose Vegas.
''I am hungry'' ( I choose you) '' Are you that hungry?" ( Do you really want to choose me?) '' Can someone else feed you?'' ( Can you find someone else better than me?) ''I am your pet" ( You are the only one that is able to awake my emotions and make feel human instead of a numb shell)
Until we meet againβ€οΈ
