Hello twin, thanks for reading for once again 💖 Well I was not expecting to do a Korn analysis either before starting the ep 🤣, but it was so fascinating to me how everything that has happened so far it is because of his actions. It is interesting how he is kinda in the background but he is the one pulling the strings and controlling the situation. He is definitely the most evil character in the series, he is so hungry for power that he takes years of his life to control people's lives and brings misery to them with his actions.

After thinking of VP for the last few hours I am here to share my thoughts concerning some things about the finale.
Let's leave aside the romance of our couples which is the main focus and let's dive into their surroundings and people revolving the world of our main characters instead. That is Korn.
Remember how it all started? It started with Korn asking Kinn to hire Porsche as his bodyguard, and things kept moving forward because of Porsche's connection to the family. While the series focuses mostly on the relationship between the three main couples, the mystery running in the background is responsible for the series of the events that occured so far. We have five key characters when it comes to the mystery. Korn, Kan, Porsche, Nampheung and Kim.
Porsche is the main character and the audience's starting point of our mystery. It all starts with him becoming a bodyguard for the mafia because Korn asked for him, which piqued Kim's curiority and the investigation started which arised questions. Once the pieces of the puzzle were coming together, Kan joined the picture providing us with new pieces thus, getting us back to the starting point. On top of that, it is revealed that Porsche's mother is actually not dead.
Let's start from the beginning, and when I say beginning, I mean to start seeing the events in the chronological order they occured and not in the order presented to us.
We got two versions of what happened in the past to Porsche's family. First we get to see Korn's story. According to him, Kan was the one who shot Porsche's dad, but let's dig a little deeper into the story.
In the first version of the story, Korn asks Porsche's dad to come back to talk to the family, he responds that he wishes for peace and he is done with them, then Kon shots him and says that he deserves it.
In the second version of Kan, things go slightly different. In his story it is Korn who pulled the trigger, but is that the only difference? Let's take a look at the dialogue.
Porsche's dad says that he does not want to have any relation to that family since both he and his wife know the truth, which is that Korn and kan's family massacred Nampheung's family and they took her in. He made a remark about the evillness running in the blood of their family and then he was shot by Korn. Korn words after shooting the dad were different from Kan's. '' It is your fault for knowing too much''.
The same words echoed in Porsche's mind when he was getting flashbacks.Meaning those words were indeed said but we did not have a face back then linked to those words, now thanks to Kan's story we do.
Now, I wanna point out that Korn is very secretive and alters all the situations and the events. At first he used a scapegoat for the murder of Porsche's father and then when he was narrating his version of the story there was little to no information given about anything, besides the fact that Kan shot the dad. In contrast, there is a lot of information provided from Kan's story. We learn the reason why Nampheung was adopted, why she decided to leave the family and Porsche's dad's remark about the family's evilness reinforces the fact that there is something sketchy going on. The word ''evil'' can serve as a key-word. Why is that? In the first version of the story Porsche's dad does not mention anything about them being evil, only that he is done with them, but in Kan's story we get a more serious remark which is reinforced by the reveal that they masssacred Nampheung's family. A truly evil act, reasonably described as such.But, that word is also used by Kan. He says to Kinn that Korn is more evil than he thinks, and later he says to Korn himself that he is bad as their dad, hinting once again at his evil nature. It is also worthy to mention that Thee said that the main family is evil and not to be trusted.
Let's dwelve into korn's character a bit more. Korn comes off as a quite old man, always talking in riddles with the intention to give advice and seems as quite a supportive and an understanding dad for someone that is involved in the mafia. Is he what he seems to be? I don't think so. His intentions are far more complicated. Every action he takes and every word he says serve a greater purpose.
Korn insisted on having Porsche work for them and once his wish came true, the chess pieces were all set. Meaning that he sees everyone around him as pawns in his game, even his own sons. Korn has been pulling the strings in the background for too long, even in Porsche's life without Porsche having a clue about it. If we see how the story unfolded we can see that Korn is far different from the image he presents to everyone.
As mentioned, every action and word of his serve a purpose.Everyone around him is a pawn and he is the mastermind that puts all the pieces into place. He is the one that decides their next move, he is responsible for the events that occured so far. He brings all the pieces together in one place and waits to see the result and whenever it is necessary, he meddles so he can have the results he desires. He constantly twists the truth by hiding it, replacing it with lies and finding the right words to manipulate others around him.
His words carry a different and a deeper meaning.'' I wanted to protect you'' '' I will take care of you'' Those are two lines he uses constantly to explain himself. Two simple lines that indicate he has no choice but to act the way he does but in reality, beneath those lines hide his true intentions.
''I wanted to protect you''. Whenever Korn uses this line it means that he hides something and tries to keep a close eye to others. For example, he used that line to excuse his actions towards Porsche and Chay. He even sent Thee to pose as their uncle for the sole purpose of keeping a close eye to them. Once the truth was coming to light he was gotten rid of. He said the same thing about Nampheung and he hid her whole existence by faking her death. He does not try to protect anyone, he intends to hide the truth from others and protects himself by keeping a close eye to everyone.
Next there is the '' I will take care of you'' line. When he uses that line it means that he has his target under his control. He said that to Porsche once Porsche addressed the case of his parent's death and he also said to Kan that he will take care of his sons.Meaning that once Kan is gone he will be in utter control of Vegas and Macau as well. Everything to this point is going as he planned. Korn's plan was to take control by making Porsche the head of the minor family but for that he needed Kan to be gone. Which brings me to another point.
Korn is so manipulative to the point thay he will make himself seem like a victim or a hero when in reality he is the villain. Instead of going after Kan he made Kan go to him. Korn was supposedly poisoned and his death was announced giving the opportunity to the minor family to start war. According to Kinn and Porsche, Korn claims that Kan poisoned him but there is nothing that indicates Kan did so. The most likely scenario is that Korn poisoned himself to create an opportunity to get rid of Kan without making it seem that he is the bad guy. That way he kills Kan and makes Porsche the head of the minor family. He meant for Kan to come after him and he meant for Porsche and Kan to find out that Nampheung is alive. That way he can make Porsche the head of the minor family with the excuse of making it up to him when in reality he knows that if Porsche is the new boss, Korn can have utter control of both families. As Kan pointed out, Korn is greedy.
Korn seems to be absolutely manipulative and calculating to the point that even Kims does not trust him. As I have said in the past, Kim is too calculative and smart, smart enough to question his own dad , start his own investigation and keep his distance from the family. A distance that allows him to be connected to the mafia wolrd but ,at the same time he is far enough to get away from Korn's range to join his games. Kim is the only one who does not serve as his father pawn and him working for his own interest might be a huge step to Korn's downfall later.
If we take into consideration the weight Korn's actions carry he is definitely evil as described by others and mainly Kan. Kan is no saint either but in comparion he seems less rotten. Korn even shot him before he got to reveal anything else, which takes me back to my previous point that Korn is extremely secretive and twists every situation.
Kan is not a good man by any means but in my eyes he is better than his brother. If you think about it, Kan and Vegas are more similar than you think. Like father like son. Both are products of the inferiotiy complex passed on to them by their fathers, they are both traumatized by the environment they were raised into and thus they became obsessed with winning in an attempt to fill the void inside of them that they express with anger and violence. They are both two angry , aggressive, violent men but inside them there is an inner wounded child that has sensitivities. For Kan, it was Nampheung who brought out his soft side and for Vegas it is Pete.
In conclussion, Korn is a very manipulative, calculating man, that twists words and situation in order to serve his purpose and achieve his goals. He treats others, and even his own sons, as pawns to his game and everything that happened unti now was part of his plan. The series focuses mainly on the romance and the struggles of the couples that sometimes it goes unnoticed that those struggles stem from Korn's doings, since it is done so subtly. '' History is only written by the victor'', a line that indicates that so far things have been going the direction Korn wants.
