Isn't funny how of all the characters, Kim turned out to be the most calculated and cold-hearted one when he appears to be the most normal one?
Both Kinn and Vegas were forced into the path of violence and crime but they both eventually surrendered to their feelings. Kinn at first seemed like a strict boss with severe tust issues but in the end he gave in to his feelings for Porsche to the point that he left the mansion to follow him. Vegas on the other hand is a manipulative man, very calculative and evey word of his is a lie that if he says good moning to you it makes you wonder if it's actually morning. Yet, once Pete came into his life a sensitive side was shown, he had never been more honest and vulnerable before Pete.
Then there is Kim, who lives his life away from the mansion, keeps his distance so he won't get caught up in his father's game but he is close enough to keep an eye on what's happening in the family. He lied his way to Porsche's life and he got out of it by continuing to lie. Even though he is not involved in the family business as his brother and cousin are, he seems to take the danger into consideration more than they do. He knows how unforgiving their world is and he makes sure to keep any sign of weakness hidden. Maybe because he is the onle who is the least involved in the business he is able to control his feelings better. Unlike Kinn and Vegas who are more prone to getting carried away by their feelings because love feels like a luxury to them they want to treasure, for Kim love is a choice. He has feelings as any other human being, but unlike his relatives, he does not seem to be weighed down by trauma. He did not grow up with Kinn's responsibilities and he was not raised into an environement in which he was constantly abused and compared to. As a result, he is less likely to act on his feelings because his mind is more clear and logic prevails.
The fact Vegas is presented as heartless manipulative asshole, but once he fell he fell so hard that he turned to be the most romantic person in the series ( along with Kinn cause that scene in the grave was so sweet) Kim could take some notes from them
