A whole lot of good stuff begingn with the letter C

This is another one of those dramas that combines a lot of stuff I enjoy watching. While I am willing to admit that this pretty much lacks depth and substance, it does have a whole lot of great stuff that begin with the letter C: Cliche
Characters, Co habitation, Contract, Cinderella story, Combos, Cold leads, Crushes (unrequited), Cute dog, Cool Lads/siblings... Cunning parents, Cuddly parents, Cuddling Cuople, Corruption, Conning, Cuteness overload and and so on and so on...

This is in no way a masterpiece, but it is an entertaining watch with the usual twists, a lovely family and is a easy binge that even had me feeling a bunch of stuff...

So if you love your C's this is a great Choice!

Fun watch and indeed a bunch of people who wanted to become family with others

This is one of those dramas that pretty much lacks all substance but is highly addictive making you, me , whoever is slighlty addicted to fluff press that next episode button over and over again.

The characters are more or less lovable at different stages of this drama, while the male lead has his evil moment and evil intentions he is pretty much lovable and fun to watch from start to finish. The female lead on the other hand is smart, funny and hard working most of the drama but has a few episodes of wtf out of character stupidity that I am going to pretend never happened to avoid lowaring the score.

The kids are sweet, the second female lead would make a great female lead to another female lead or in a story about sisterhood... The female leads best friend is bad ass but also annoying at times... predictable and brings 0 new to the story at all.. As I feel I have seen her in 80% of the c-dramas out there.

The villain is badly written, fine the person does stand for a bunch of drama, keeping this from becoming to fluffy. But other than that I feel like the whole villain plot is just off... And males 0 sense. Not for lack of trying but it just fell flat.

The dialog, parenting and all things that involved kids had some good parts but most of it had me questioning if the writers ever actually met a kid, a parent or could grasp the notion of building a relationship with kids based on honesty and trust beyond cute moments.

Still there are a bunch of grand gestures, bickering and people who come and go... nice kisses and I do believe the couple was indeed fun to watch.

Mess in the Rain

"I can literally hear your thoughts yet you still managed to keep that a secret for so long..."

It is rare to find a drama where the thing that makes most sense in the whole plot is two people being able to communicate telepathically when it rains as everything else is just such a mess. A messy pace, a messy story, messy illogical decisions and messy friendships.

That said the characters are entertaining to watch, especially the second couple who stole the show for me. Or at least their characters where the most (maybe only) lovable characters on this show. The show also manages to fit in a lot of tropes, and by that I mean a lot.. and could easily clear the whole game born in a game of cliche bingo giving us amnesia, cohabitation, lying, misunderstanding, betrayal, umbrellas, wrist grabs, vehicle of doom, kidnapping, controlling parents, gagsters... If you have seen it in a drama you will probably see it here too.

Entertaining at times but not really good.

Sugar, Sweet, Love...

I am just going to say that I loved it, the characters, the friendships I even enjoyed watching the misunderstandings and the whole process of figuring out ones passion, love and waht not... In this lovely opposites attract and bring. out the best of each other friendship and romance.

The found family in this drama is one of those that will make you want to start working part time at a convenience store if it means you will make friends as good as these.

Though there are times I found myself slightly frustrated with the pacing, this drama does do a pretty decent job showing complex emotions and how hard it can be to break habits as well as move on from a crush, a relationship, a set back at work. This drama also offers some pretty good dialog and analogies here and there.

So what can I say this was just my type of drama with all the right tropes an easy binge and a female lead that I truly fell in love with.

Lot´s of kisses and fluff with a side of darkness

Watching Bae In Hyuk kissing 10 different girls in about 7 different ways can sound a bit off but will definitely satisfy all your kissing needs for a while. That said the drama may be all about kisses but our male lead is so much more showing a bunch of emotions, smiles and pretty much acting like the perfect guy any human being would fall for.

The female leads (Jeon Hye Won) character is a tad conservative in her views on kissing but her hate towards human beings is very admirable as well as well portrayed and slightly relatable, luckily I found my own goblin so I do know there are some good ones out there but with toxic masculinity and gender conventions a slight hate towards man kind is only natural and indeed well portrayed in this very short production.

The Jeon Hye Wons character may be lovely but her acting skills could be improved, the friendships here are the type you will long for but for such a short what I assume is not very high budget show it tackles some issues, has both slightly less predictable and more predictable twists as well as tells a pretty decent story.

All in all a short and enjoyable watch

P.S 8,5 rating is based the titles category and other similar productions, so set your expectations towards 12 min/12 episode web dramas and not a full length drama

Guns n' Cringes

Don´t judge the drug dealer by the drugs in his trunk,.. or is it by the bullets in his gun?
Anyway this is a well casted story that has some pretty fun moments and a lovely cast, that starts odd a tad cringe but fun and then becomes more and more twisted before it goes back to cringe as we get up close and personal with:

Our first male lead the jinx/criminal too kind for his own good, smart, charming and fun in every single way. This guy refuses to get his hands dirty but come on, you are still kind of involved... He keeps having a lot of bad luck. this is actually due to having a father that should have been thrown in jail long ago for the way he treated his son, yet no one seems to do something about him teaching us that the patriarch is indeed still going strong.

Or other male lead the so called cop is adorable in the beginning but experiences character deterioration. Written without logic the guy goes from sweetness and spice and everything nice to... bland, tasteless goo. A true shame.

Other criminals: sweetest guy ever, make you wanna join their family even if you risk a finger or two..

Sister to the male leads: Is the best sister in all of dramaland.

Best friend/love triangle female character: Has the most characters to her of them all, not all are lovable but the actress is gold.

The rest of the characters are more or less predictable, some will offer fighting scenes other offer cringe and then there are those who show up with food... brave, week, impulsive but besides out father of the year and so called cop male lead no one annoyed me.

All in all a decent show, just mind the cringe and you will be fine!

Mediocre 2.0

Once upon a time I wrote a review about a drama and used the word mediocre 10 times out of 100 words... And I guess I was reminded of that in this drama as this was pretty much as mediocre as it gets... Except for maybe the kissing who took a step back and ended up as dead fish... but that was evened out by the use of water, rain and people getting out of the shower. So at the end of the day I guess this is just one of those dramas you can watch because it is short and will keep you occupied or it could actually help you fall a sleep as nothing really exiting happens in it at all.

Icicle, cohabitation, hate to love, bickering, opposites, friendship, family and everything nice

Yes this is yet another cliche fest of pretty much all my favourite tropes except for maybe amnesia as we get to watch miss
hard working and bubbly meets hard working icicle just the way I like it on screen, but not in real life.

The food, cakes, people and scenery are all gorgeous. There are a few characters including the female lea that are a little bit over the top in their gestures and acting, but it stopped bothering as the story progressed and I fell in love with them instead. The female leads best friend is pretty much there to cheer her friend on in to getting it on with pretty much anyone. Their conversations lead to misunderstandings and bothered me at first too. However at one point it became a thing and they upped it up a notch making me curious about what the friend would be doing the next time she appeared instead of annoyd.

Our male lead is soooo coool, dude completely lacks verbal communication skills yet is fluent in insults and silent affection and scenery spotting. As well as has this look that will melt the people around him while keeping him frozen no matter what he does he manages to stay coool. While the female lead has a way of staying awkward and warm. A true show of opposites attract.

There is a whole lot of love geometry, of the highly predictable type there not only to prolong the story but also to make sure the viewers know stuff about the characters.

I also loved the way they talked about a family, brotherhood and other stuff... And while I did get mad at a few of the characters I appreciated both loving and hating them. When you watch this I am sure you will understand what I mean, but to not risk spoiling the plot Ill leave it at that.

This is definitely an easy binge that will captivate the cliche lover from start to finish, as for those of you who are in this looking for some kind of gore or action after seeing Yamazaki Kento in Imawa no Kuni no Alice you will not get it here. But damn the boys character is sooooo much better in this than he ever was in that,

A lot more than you...

This is a pretty decent drama, the characters are lovable have pretty good character development and the story is pretty interesting both the underdog sports part as well as giving it a business angle rarely seen on screen. So it felt kind of fresh in a way and gave a more wholesome puzzle than most sports dramas.

The chemistry between the leads and the surrounding couples is also really good, they have pretty predictable plotlines but one of the side couples actually left me wanting more and if I am honest was actually more interesting than the main couple. I also loved the take on divorce this show has. It also offers a whole lot of lovely come backs and polite ways of telling men that the universe does not always revolve around them...

The friendships and found family in this are pure gold! They are probably the selling point of this drama way beyond both romance, bromance and fight the corporate jerks in this.

No one annoyed me, and it was not as draggy as many other 30+ episode dramas are. However it would have been a lot better and maybe even gotten a 9 if they cut down the episode count to 24 by skipping some of the unnecessary twists and filler scenes that did not add a lot to the plot but where there... Or just by switching out the unnecessary and added more time to the less explored couples of the show.

Part of me wants to give this a 7,5 for its unnecessary parts, however the over all feel, lack of annoying over the top characters makes up for that.

P.S I also learned the rules for tennis so it is even educational

Something different, different

This was... ehem... what was this? It was a bunch of crackers (I thought one of them was a bunch of trash bags) singing they want to be eaten gently, lovingly and what not... I am not going to say this is good but it is definitely something different that I do believe people should watch for the WTF did I just watch effect that it has.

If you look for it you will find a whole lot of symbolism, if you do not look for it you will see what could be understood as both a love triangle and a poly relationship. Very short, very sweet , very different than anything I have ever seen before.
I enjoyed seeing a young Yoon Park. I am not really sure I actually enjoyed this but as I said it is just something different, and that is worth a lot!

Kiss of not so much sense , but still entertaining

This is just my type of drama, it mixes genres just the way I like it romance, super powers (ish), cold leads, bossy...

There is one character that was a bit to much from start to finish but other than that I would say I enjoyed binging from start to episode 11, after that this drama went all Hometown Cha Cha Cha on me taking previously sensible and interesting characters and just ruining them completely in the name of something that could be considered a spoiler so I will spare you.

The second male lead, was an interesting man he is supposed to be made to be some kind of saint but I am not buying it. He was a lot of fun to watch but seemed like a narcissist in disguise the type who will not respect your boundaries at all and will make a movie out of every single one of your secrets.

The second female lead was pretty much a stalker, and much like the second male lead completely lacked respect for others boundaries. She was a little bit over the top but I found myself enjoying her scenes, just as long as I could use the mute button whenever she cried. .

The mom and second couple were also lovely, Tae In Ho did not played the cutest guy ever! AS this guy normally plays villains I found myself extremely impressed by this guys sweet side making me long for more of that. Please cast him as a Nice Male Lead!

I also enjoyed the way they showed enhanced senses as painful, I wish they would have worked on this a little bit more as there where a bunch of plot holes to his ability which is really such a shame.

So to conclude this review, there is a lot of good fun cliches done good in this. Do NOT expect things to make any sense, expect plot holes and expect annoying elements (especially towards the end). If you can live with all this you will get a decent OST, some pretty scenery and some pretty steamy scenes as well.

Repetitive

This was basically the first part but from the other guys perspective a slightly confusing time line and an added scene at or two at the ending. It is still basically two guys flirting but with more words but dare I say it less good acting but also less slow mo feel to it.

I think Film was better as a quiet guy... a shy guy the kind of guy who is mysterious and son on...

So basically after watching the second part I feel like lowering the score of the first part, however I won't and I will probably go watch the behind the scenes too...

But to be honest I have no clue why I am doing this, like at all....

Pretty Depressing...

If you ever find yourself thinking it is a good idea to try to run fast enough so that despair won't catch up you may just want so slow down or you may, just may find yourself running off a cliff...

So you may want to slow down and watch a Tokyo Sunrise... or any sunrise for that matter, you could also get one of those paraglide Glider thingies used in CLOY so you can fly once you reach that cliff... but that is way beside the point. This is a slow paced depressing movie, as to be expected of a movie about a guy who is driving in to the night to find the first love of hid dead best friend... In a journey to try to move on or maybe understand why the best friend who chose to write a note and a picture instead of using a paraglide thingy when he jumped off a cliff.

So this is sad, the music is sad, the people are sad (in a lot of ways), even the lighting is sad...there is not much dialog but the little dialog there is, is pretty powerful, interesting, self aware and witty at times. The characters are real human being dealing with real human being stuff. Though there is a slight message about moving on and living on it did not take away from the over all depressing theme to this movie. So this is a movie to watch when you just need some depression in your life... be it finding people as depressed as you are, or if you are just too cheerful and need to tone it down a bit this is a great place to find it. Though there are some entertaining elements to this movie, I would say it is more of a movie you watch for its depth and sadness and not for pure entertainment.

My Bickering Couple

I love the female lead, and the friends are pretty good... the second male lead had a lot of moments and the male lead has his ups and downs but there is a lot of draaaaag, and I have a bunch of issues with the plot, like a lot of issues with the plot making this drama kind of hard to rate as some parts (especially the female lead) deserve a 10 while others a 2.

So what we have here is the story about the smart boy who used to binge eat a lot and the sporty girl who never studied... Showing us how people are judged based on their grades and looks. Some of this was actually done really well, even showing the very rare fear of eating that can come to those with eating disorders triggered by weight loss. However most of the way this is handled feels off and not very accepting towards people with body fat, even if it seams like they try to say you are valid just the way you are...

The main couple fights about 99% of the time bringing new meaning to the term bickering couple, they do have a lot of fun and sweet moments between the bickering that I did appreciate. However the male lead has a bit of a whiney nature and tone to him so at one point I started finding him annoying and once we passed that point there was really no turning back even if he di have a killer smile and great chemistry and I dare say tension between him and the female lead . The way his character character was written was just not male lead material I guess.... Unlike the female lead who is lovable though and tough she admits to her shortcomings, is strong, fun, caring... and has some of the best parants in all of dramaland as well as a really cute dog.
I also get the feeling that they try to mix in some representation of people outside the able bodied norm but it is done in the worst possible way... using people with disabilities and illnesses as a way to excuse bad behaviour which almost made me drop this drama, if it wern´t for the great parants, two amazing teachers, friendships and awesome female lead and her chemistry with the male lead I would indeed have dropped it

So what can I say it is mostly a good watch but beware there are a bunch of issues with the plot so not expect to be enlightened by the story...

Just Your Typical Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla Movie

It is what it is... and well you get what you signed up for a bunch of cliches, a mediocre story but great chemistry an easy watch and puppy eyes.

As the hows of us tell the story of the failed musician who may be good at writing lyrics and debating stuff but completely forgets how to use words when he actually needs them. And the women who tried so hard to make things work that she ended up completely exhausted, and without a diploma.

Though a bunch of flash backs here and there ewe get to see bickering, slight stalking, lovely umbrellas and the making of a disastrous relationship, it's good times, it's bad times all the way to We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (Taylor Swift song not included). To wait will they get back together? or can they at leas be friends type of deal.

There is little to know consistency in this drama and the details are a bit off but when you are in the mood for a Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla movie with it's usual stuff this is a decent place to get it. As it is a movie you watch for those two and pretty much nothing else...
