It's the usual case for XZ works. In China there was a huge black orchestrated campaign and it always spreads to the international side too.
Especially ignore what Reddit says, it is chock full of XZ haters, both cdrama subs there are run by people who hate him and a lot of XFX have been banned or simply left due to them while the posters express their bitterness over their own idols. MDL is not much better, his works get rated 1 en masse and considering who are the admins it will never change.
Always, always make up your own mind about XZ works because the money that goes into trying to suppress him is huge. You will see now when Zanghai starts, the same thing will just switch to that.

You can go hype your idol somewhere else and not here, like on your page where you are working overtime for him. There is no credible date about Zanghai Zhuan being at the start of May.

There cannot be season two because everything in the novel has already been covered in what you have watched. The other problem is that China is even more restrictive now than it used to be towards anything related to BL, as you can see in multiple dramas being shelved.
Third, Xiao Zhan has moved on with his career. He has moved from idol drama and is now working in serious drama projects with top teams and directors.
Most people on this page are moving with him so usually the talk is about his current projects that are either being broadcast or are upcoming (like the spy drama right now).
I am sure there are many people who still like CQL (I certainly do) but you will probably more easily find people who are still talking about it on the drama page, not here his page.
The FL is not announced yet but it's not any of the currently speculated names. The drama will start filming soon, readings are about to happen so Daylight will announce it.

Depends what you mean by sufficient. Male centric means that the ML has the absolute majority of the focus and other characters drift in and out of it. We actually do have some leaks on time distribution but IMO at least, it is irrelevant. So many dramas have been broadcast with full leads yet how many actually remained memorable?
If the writing is good, the directing is good and the actors grab a hold of that chance then even with lesser focus they can realise incredibly memorable characters. ZJY can act, she has great charisma (and is really, really beautiful which let's be honest, does matter) so as long as the basis is there, she will be more than fine even if this is not the classic female lead scenario. So in that sense, I think it will be sufficient. Think about it like this. In NiF, Fei Liu was a support character. It's been ten years now. Who doesn't know Wu Lei as Fei Liu even if it was Mei Changsu's story? And her role here should be larger and more significant anyway. As viewers and fans, let's hope ZHZ will be one of those memorable dramas on all levels.

He decided to begin his transformation a while ago and now that all his contractual obligations are done (like TLP), he can choose the projects that he truly wants. Unfortunately it's not easy to find a good script in China but generally speaking, he seems to be doing one drama, one movie a year which is still a good rhythm. Both his previous and next projects are with Daylight so that's quality too. I think this tempo will probably remain.

His fans demographics are working adults. They have their own lives and don't mind him being low-key. They also walked passed the door of hell with him in 2020 and the fan base that solidified at the time is not going to break because he keeps his head down. Lots of new fans coming in constantly too, his album sales were a great indicator of that. So his fan base is steadily expanding. It's an interesting phenomenon in the world known as cent.

Just to add, rumored to be released in May or early June, it will be broadcast exclusively on Youku and CCTV-8.
It is already promoting it, there are giant posters up on buildings since this morning. They will do it but the problem is that we have entrance examinations in June so it's not a promotion issue at that point.
