JOL was terrible for him right from the start. Cxfx had way less experience at the time so the drama managed to play them with false promos and used them really well to push this show. They know better now but everything was a bit muddled then. It has been known for a long time he isn't going to do JOL 2 and why would he? He is the biggest Chinese star of the younger generations and a big male lead. He doesn't carry sedan chairs these days. Drama crew wasn't happy about that so he has been attacked consistently for months, saying it was his fault JOL2 wasn't starting when it was entirely due to ZRY. Now that the drama filming is starting, they were everywhere on Douban attacking him about other things.
That is simply how that goes. They use him, by both positive or negative hype, to push others. You will see this for dramas and endorsements too. It is good to be aware of what is happening but don't get stressed because it isn't going to change.

Absolutely. I know people keep mentioning the Spring Festival but that seems way too soon. As you say though, fingers crossed, any time next year is more than fine.

It will be next year because next year is 100 year anniversary of the author. China film and Tsui Hark are, among other things, doing it to honor him. When next year is unknown. The anniversary is in February but the whole year counts.
Post production can last a long time, especially if they use CGI but these days even this isn't as long as it used to be, providing pre-production was done properly. They will most likely use wire work, Tsui Hark prefers close combat filming so the CGI will probably be needed mostly for the big battles and battlefield effect which does take time but is still less than if a whole movie was full of them. Next year for sure though.
Some additional info: - this has been on main hs for hours now and no refutation - other melons agreeing that while the main is true, FL is different - antis have gone crazy, especially the usual two groups which can be indicative of this being indeed true 🤞
LYF has over 70 episodes. It is forbidden to air a season longer than 40 and we just got a new law that says two seasons cannot be aired back to back. This means TC is going to have to shuffle things to make that work. In China most expect August (the best prime time) to go to it, with TLP broadcasting before it.

The supporting roles should be up tomorrow. The movie is a big male lead so actually the FL will have less than even ML2. Great production crew!
Not to mention I feel a little ashamed, Yuen Woo-ping working at his age and here I am always complaining about being tired.

What we talked about a little lower - Tsui Hark, Condor Heroes, starts in late May. Du Kefeng for cinematography. FL is Zhou Ye.
I am going to squeal if this is true, especially as Du Kefeng is amazing so in combo with TH just 😭
