tbh in the beginning its quite confusing, could be only for me since i dont really watch Chinese dramas, tho it absolutely got better. the acting was great, storyline was also okay

i feel like the king took those... drastic measures cuz of the fact that he was king and even with all that power he couldn't have the one person he so badly wanted. to add insult to injury, that situation occurred due to his own decision since both the queen and the chief were against it at first.

tbh i dont feel bad for the king, he got what he deserved but i do pity him somewhat..

The later deaths could've been more gruesome. After the painter's death, the others were kinda bland. I know, more painful deaths meant like, more emotionally painful. But wouldn't have minded seeing a bit more gore.
