I don't think they must say exact cause of death, not to mention you can't compare doctors and finding cause of sickness/death now and centuries ago... Logically most likely stroke/aneurysm. I don't think he's boring at all, we will surely know more about the husband and his reasons in the upcoming episodes.

well, they will most likely say it later on... I think he's almost certainly gay, I highly doubt intersex as his father would know I think, and trans doesn't make much sense
rewatching the scenes, I am pretty sure he is gay, not trans, I know it's not that important right now, but nothing implies that he is trans at all, he is part of those seen as ,"wrong/dirty", he clearly didn't mean just trans/born in the wrong body

it was sexual minorities seen as outcast/something bad, so he could be gay or trans... I find it unlikely all of them were trans and right now I get the feeling he is gay
