Title Story of Kunning Palace Spoiler
thats coz the empress(now empress dowager) ordered dingfei(now xie wei) to die for her son...maybe its a guilt…
Not guilt. The empress dowager appears unapologetic and lacking remorse, notably evident in her response to the jade incident. Ning'er also noticed it. The empress dowager treats individuals, even children, as subjects and disposable for the sake of the safety of the prince. XW will definitely seek revenge for those poor souls.

I used to hate this kinda of genre, villainess mc that went back to the past. Because usually this kind of genre…
I agree with you as someone who likes this genre. JXN knows what will happen in the future and tries to divert her fate, but doing so has a butterfly effect that she's not aware of. Unlike other main characters, where diverting their fate and the plot favor them so much that everything goes according to plan. It's refreshing that she isn't flawless, especially in the Four Arts, despite being an empress.

Hey, I did a bit of digging, and it seems like the Chinese character you mentioned is linked to Dissociative Disorder. I could be mistaken, but the description and examples kind of resonate with XW's experiences.

I just started watching the series and I'm late for the discussion, having missed a lot. In Episode 5, when Bailu describes him craving blood and having red eyes, I initially thought she was going to say he's a vampire, lmao. Is "dementia" a mistranslation, or is it something else? The drama feels like a series adaptation of the Chinese historical novels I've read, and I'm thoroughly loving it. Also, anyone happen to know the name of the song played in the literature examination room? Care to tell

they wrote ML as a stupid cown ass man.
It's such a pity. GZY had a lot of untapped potential. Early on in the series, he demonstrated his ability to handle the rash ointment scene with finesse, although I can't recall the exact episode. In the original novel, he's described as a prodigy, but his consistent misjudgment of various situations contradicts this portrayal. His character was poorly written

I don't watch WRTW coz I don't like the ml but I'm curious did his fans bully Lusi?
Not only do his fans bully her, but also the fans of his female lead in another drama, just because all her male leads became ZL's male leads, which is an absurd reason. The funny thing is Liu Yuning became ZL's male lead again. It's back to where it started, and it's not surprising they'll wreak havoc again. Anyways, my Haoyan heart is happy. Fans of traffic actors can be scary.

I hate SGQ. She's scheming, cunning, and always lying, etc. Are we forgetting something? She is. She's an assassin. Girlie is not there to be a saint. SGQ has no freedom, whereas YWS got her freedom from GZY. SGQ has no protection, while YWS has all the front and back hills. A single misstep could lead to her demise. So, why should we be surprised that SGQ is doing whatever it takes to survive? I feel the need to emphasize this: the animosity towards the second lead actors is unwarranted. They shouldn't be held accountable for the director's decisions. Oh, but they got so much screen time. My god, they are also leads; if you don't know, their screen time serves the plot. Oh, but this and that. Their CP is popular because some audiences are drawn to the seductive, dark dynamic they present. The other CP is popular for the audience that loves a pure, fluffy innocent dynamic. It's a matter of personal taste. Don't shove down the throats of the other fans that like SGQ×SJ CP that "oh, I don't understand why the other CP is popular, etc." You don't understand, period. "Why are they popular? They don't even have chemistry." They're popular for a reason duh

"Why are they having a photoshoot? They're doing too much." Their CP fans in China are begging for it. They're even begging for a modern drama of them.
Just my two cents

Person Lu Yu Xiao
can't believe she is the same person playing Jin Luo and Shangguan Qian. Is it due to the make up? The eyebrow…
Yes. This is undoubtedly her most beautiful makeup look to date. The use of Aegyo sal, or whatever the Chinese equivalent may be, has truly made a noticeable difference in enhancing her facial features. The makeup artist's techniques on Lu Yuxiao's face have generated a lot of interest in XHS lately, with many seeking to replicate the look.

Yes I like her character also, she is so complicated and there not show her background in drama. People said she…
The really sad part is that nobody seems to sympathize with SGQ. People keep labeling her as bad, calling her scheming and arrogant. SGQ's character is so complex, and when you think about it from your perspective, it's genuinely heartbreaking. If the Gushan sect hadn't wiped out her family, she could have been the cherished eldest daughter at home. Instead, she was raised by her enemies and manipulated like a pawn. Who wouldn't resent that?
The main female character has the unwavering protection of the male lead, while Shangguan Qian, in the Gong Palace, lives on the edge, knowing one wrong move could cost her life. The contrast between GSJ's treatment of her and GZY's treatment of YWS is stark. GZY repeatedly saves YWS, but SGQ can't even be sure if she can escape death. GSJ's promise to save her only from a painful death isn't enough for her to trust him with her life.
SGQ's character is exceptionally well-crafted. She's flawed and tragic, and the depth of her backstory alone could be a series or novel. Unfortunately, the drama didn't do justice to her character, missing the opportunity to fully explore her complexity and the depth of her struggles.

SGQ was given a chance to turn coat by both GSJ and GZY during the play of conspiracy. On his sick bed after injured…
I appreciate your comment. Undoubtedly, one undeniable aspect of the story's second leads is the mutual belief that the other party doesn't love them, which contributes significantly to the unfolding events.YWS, in contrast to SGQ, receives both assurance and concrete actions from GZY, who promises to protect her. In SGQ's case, she lacks such assurances, leaving her with no choice but to depend solely on herself for survival. It's worth pondering whether, had GSJ taken a similar approach to GZY in demonstrating love and support for SGQ, the entire narrative might have taken a dramatically different turn. Regrettably, that wasn't the case.
I must clarify that my comment about SGQ doesn't condone her actions but seeks to explore the intricacies of her character. It's evident from the beginning that GSJ places Gong above all else, making his character quite clear. What I discerned about SGQ is that she's a pitiful character who has been through a lot. She's just a tool trying to survive.

she was lying so much that I can not decide that anything was true what she said
SGQ and YWS resort to lying as a means of survival. YWS's backstory provides context for her actions, whereas SQQ's lies lack such background information, leaving us uncertain

SGQ was given a chance to turn coat by both GSJ and GZY during the play of conspiracy. On his sick bed after injured…
GSJ's love for her was real, yet he couldn't openly express it, and it couldn't ensure her safety. SGQ seemed to be the one who received the least trust and favor from anyone. Her life was marked by tragedy, memory loss, and manipulation by her enemies, enduring unimaginable torture. She had no one to rely on and was sent on dangerous missions where self-reliance was her only option. Inside the Gong palace, her existence felt like a precarious tightrope walk, with Shangjue's relentless suspicion casting a shadow over each day. It was as though she danced on the thinnest of ice, one misstep away from the abyss of death. Did SGQ not have her own feelings? Her attempts to test Shangjue, albeit in vain, revealed her longing for his support. She wasn't devoid of emotion, but she received no helping hand. It's clear they could have survived together, but they united against her. The apparent heartfelt connection she shared with GYZ unraveled as yet another thread in this intricate tapestry of deception. However, during that time, SGQ's feelings were indeed genuine. She never truly received anyone's favor. No one informed her that the Fortnite flies didn't require an antidote. In the end, her survival rested solely upon her shoulders.

The conclusion of their story, in which they parted ways, was indeed fitting. A second season seems unnecessary, as they can now pursue separate paths in life.

I visited the MDL hoping to engage in discussions about SGQ's character, but I was surprised to find that no one seemed to mention her here. I've been a part of this community since Day 1, defending Shangjue's character from the very beginning.
I've always had a deep interest in exploring the complexities of various characters, especially SGQ. As I delved into discussions on Weibo and XHS, I was fascinated by the depth of analysis surrounding SGQ's character.
People were genuinely invested in understanding SGQ as a character, trying to unravel the motivations behind her choices.
When it comes to SGQ, it's important to recognize that she treads a treacherous path. To her, there's no distinction between the Wufeng and Gong families; she must be exceedingly cautious, as if every step were on thin ice. A single misstep could lead to certain death, and there's no one who would come to her rescue. She doesn't have someone like Gong Ziyu, who can defy rules and repeatedly save Weishan.
Labeling her as a liar is unjust. If she had spoken the truth during the interrogation, she would have faced certain death. Remember, she emerged from a pile of bodies as an assassin, driven by a relentless pursuit of survival and revenge for her family. SGQ simply yearns for something to lean on, someone to protect her. From her perspective, GSJ has always treated her as an outsider, making it impossible for her to entrust her life to him.
In my opinion, this series ultimately leads to the perfect ending for these Second leads. They are destined to go their separate ways since they are unwilling to compromise with their respective responsibilities and missions. SGQ can go on her way of revenge and maybe meet someone who's willing to protect her, someone who could put her as his first choice. Meanwhile, SJ could just fulfill his responsibilities to the Gong family and get married.

Gong + 4 lines (Yu, Zhi, Jun, Shang)
If the scenes are about them, the wheel of words will reveal their lineage. There's also a 'feng' if the scenes are about Wufeng.

I wonder when and if the Director will publish a statement regarding the ending and a second season or the novel.…
It's actually hilarious because some comments I've read on Weibo and XHS are cursing him to death for his crappy ending.

Here's the translated version in English of the post I found on Weibo that explains their love story(GSJxSGQ) very well.

"I'm seriously overwhelmed. In the chaotic plot of 'My Journey to you,' I actually found a couple that crawled through the depths of hell.

The entire journey in 'Gong Shang Jue X Sangguan Qian' feels like manipulation from start to finish, with lies propelling their schemes until the very last moment.

If you think about it from their respective perspectives, it genuinely seems like neither of them ever felt loved by the other, not even for a moment. Yet, they undeniably experienced love.

From Shang Guan Qian's perspective, she saw Gong Shang Jue's suspicion, training, and control. She witnessed admonitions by the inkwell and torment in the dungeon. She endured the unrelenting flames that kept her, even when he let her go. And in the end, he planned to use her.

But she didn't know that Gong Shang Jue once fed her medicine in the dungeon, withdrew a hand he dared not touch, defended her in front of the elders, left behind the boundless flames that could hurt her too, and gazed at the white azaleas that said, 'I belong to you.'

From Gong Shang Jue's perspective, he saw Shang Guan Qian's countless lies and an indistinguishable past. He witnessed her approaching him time and time again with hidden motives. He heard the plea for revenge after their shared passion in the bath. He saw her exposing his vulnerabilities to their enemies. And she left without looking back.

But he didn't know that Shang Guan Qian shed genuine tears for him, spoke of a lifetime together in a moment of foolishness, repeatedly reminded herself not to fall for him, and planted white azaleas that said, 'I belong to you' for him in a place she could call her own.

Yet, in the end, they remained unaware of each other's feelings, still yearning for one another, even thinking the other might have forgotten them.

Gong Shang Jue didn't even know Shang Guan Qian's real name, and they both drifted through the vast Jianghu like this.

Love, hatred, and parting intertwined. This is the love that 'GSJxSGQ' experienced in the end, in their last moments and throughout their lives.

After moments of warmth, it was boundless manipulation once again. "GSJx SGQ" took the darkness to the extreme. " 😭

what is it with c-ent actors/actresses being super slim? Are they working too hard? Is the stress too much? Zhang…
Cnetz set incredibly high standards for Chinese actors and are known for body shaming. Many of my favorite actors have faced such criticism, leading some to undergo significant physical changes. It's important to remember that the pressure and scrutiny they endure can be overwhelming, so I empathize with the actors.

All that GSJ did is solely for the Gong family, he always put family above his personal interest, try his best…
That's what I'm saying. He should leave that dang place along with his little brother because, given their capabilities, they have the potential to establish a new home. The Gong is filled with ungrateful individuals. The absence of the Jue and Zhi lineage could potentially have serious consequences for the Gong. It's disheartening how little they value SJ and even perceive him as a villain."
