Lighthearted, cute, but very cliché acting
This felt more like a pantomime on the stage. The slapstick, over the top shyness, and charicature like characters made in it feel like they were trying to cater to the back of the audience in a large theatre. The main character actors did well though and the story was cute and fun. It was just too stagey for me and too obvious that they were acting. It almost felt meta at times. But all in all this is a nice show to watch if you’re getting over a great show and you’re not ready to commit to another intense one straight after. Was this review helpful to you?
Well crafted timeloop mystery, with great lead characters.
This did not disappoint at all! The story unfolded in a nice tempo and the characters’ relationship and trust progressed realistically. It was a compelling mystery and worked on several levels. I wasn’t a fan of the OST and that it somehow felt a bit like a publicity endorsement for the police😅but those were the only downsides. Except for Chief Du’s wig 😬I thoroughly enjoyed this and I was hooked from the beginning. Highly recommended to any timeloop story fans, it’s one of the good ones! Was this review helpful to you?

Self plagiarism from the scriptwriter.
Overall this was a nice enough xianxia, kind of run of the mill, the side characters were the stars of this drama and the best parts. Unfortunately the scriptwriter decided to reuse parts of her script from Goodbye my princess, in the mortal arc. She basically copy pasted the concept, key points leading up to the climax and the climax itself. This did the whole drama a major disservice as it was hard to take anything seriously after that and the drama and heartbreak of it all was just missing. When I’ve already seen the scenes once, but better done, it’s not going to work a second time. The twist ended up being the fact that I’d already seen this twist before. It’s a shame, because it was a nice enough show, not amazing or life changing, but just a nice show to watch. I’m going to avoid this scriptwriter from now on. Or I might just watch to see if she reuses it again….

It’s an ambivalent watch.
I can’t quite figure out how I feel about this one. In general I enjoyed it, but I also felt incredibly anxious throughout. The antagonist is incredibly annoying. I did really like that in this drama FL is the powerful and older one. ML is a mortal. But a lot of stupid choices are made and misunderstandings because of assumptions and not saying things clearly are part of the things that go wrong. That’s a lot of what makes watching it feel ambivalent, because it’s infuriating, just say stuff! Was this review helpful to you?

Riveting, interesting and well executed!
This has blown me away! I really loved the story and I enjoyed the the way they had blended the manhua in. I felt that it dragged a bit towards the end, but that was mostly because Changge seemed to lose her smarts. Her quick wit was a large part of why the show worked. But I think that it is something that unfortunately often happens in dramas, once the FL and ML are established they tend to lean into being taken care of and apparently can’t remember their ingenuity that kept them alive till now 😅 Be prepared to have your heart broken, but also healed again. 2ML and FL are forever faveszWas this review helpful to you?
