She really has a bubbly personality. I loved her character in the first season but she was getting a lot of hate there. I still remember me trying to defend for the poor girl. Some people were attacking not only her character, but personally.

I have a question for you, in regards to respecting the actor's choice. Was she forced to accept this role? Knowing…
Interesting take on it. I think it could be possible that her agency is trying to get her international fame and popularity through this drama, it has a similar taste to TBT which also surged the popularity of their stars. This storyline seems to hit the right notes and both leads are visually appealing. LHC has her own values and that's fine if she doesn't want to compromise it but that conflicts with how the storyline is suppose to go. The audience has a right to voice their criticisms. They can't possibly know that if she signed up for this project and doesn't deliver, everyone will turn a blind eye to it. They can't even hide the problem, it's just that glaring on screen. The fact she or her agency accepted this script knowing what it entails, were they thinking that they could either skirt around those type of scenes or that force her into doing things she's uncomfortable with? As a public figure, she and her agency will have to deal with those consequences.

Half baked passionately in love. Wang An Yu - you deserve better
To be honest, I feel as though he is carrying this show in the romance aspect. His expressive eyes definitely exuded passion. LHC is a good actress too but not for this type of romance and passion, or lack of. They covered only high school so I think I'll able to give it a pass, but as adults and getting back together after separation, I'd expect some "passion" there but I'm not sure if she can deliver it. It's a huge question mark now. But I am extremely doubtful now. If they do another fake camera angle, this comment section is gonna lose it again, that I'm sure of.

I mean the show is not all that terrible but I get where you are at. Its not yet a train wreck but it's a bummer…
Understandable. Fool me once, shame on them, fool me twice, shame on me. I cannot contemplate how they thought it was going to work. It almost feels like another level of deception. If you haven't already, I recommend The Best Thing, it hits all the right notes.

Choice of not doing kiss scenes is fine, but leading romance that auto requires to do this is so so wrong. There…
I also wonder about what the intention is if they full well-known that this project requires intimacy. Fame and popularity for sure but if they already know LHC has some sort of no-kiss clause, do they, and I mean director and agency, think they can use fake camera angles and a flimsy take on it to serve as a pass? It's not one-for all scene, it literally has multiple instances if they even read the novel. Or maybe the director is wiling to take the risk of taking her in as FL to portray a passionate daring character. If that is the case, what they are doing is sabotaging the actress' career.

There’s been a lot of speculation about why LHC didn’t do any kissing scenes. But up until now, even her fans…
It's definitely a thin line where they are playing with fire. Whether it's her choice to accept the script or her agency with the power over her, the end result is that she being the public figure will have to take on the blame. To be accepted as a rising actress, she has to choose projects that will help her career and it comes with expectations to deliver it, in this case being a romantic drama. It's an unfortunate situation if she really has no say and the agency took this one on to boost international clout and fame. The audience has a right to feel disappointed. To the point where people are saying it's her parent who forbids it even though she's 25. Who knows? Maybe the shady agency of hers just wanted any publicity, good or bad as long as it's trending?

where I can read a novel?
Be warned that you'll feel disappointed with the show too once you compare it to the novel. They totally botched up the passion aspect of it.

I mean the show is not all that terrible but I get where you are at. Its not yet a train wreck but it's a bummer they mishandled it like that. I feel like they are deviating from the novel in some ways to cater towards FL no-kiss clause. Still boggles me why the director would choose an actress who cannot deliver a passionate romance. I think it's missing a crucial element to the storyline yet downplaying it's importance for this particular plot. I stress this point cause you don't need kisses in all dramas, this one just calls for it but has none of it. It's definitely a major let down. I'll still watch this but I'm gonna level my expectations and feel somewhat indifferent about what this passionate love is all about. They should actually rename the title as "Cute puppy in love" and don't even say it's adapted from a novel.

Fair enough. But I actually think XRH would suit a high-schooler, it's all about the styling. She's around the same age as WAY too and she's very charismatic in TBT. I can't help it after just getting off that show :-) Eventually, there's a time-jump too so I'm not worried about the focus on that aspect.

For sure, if you have noticed already, the big trending topic is that FL can't do kiss scenes. It sucks that I had expectations after finishing the novel. But the problem is that it feels essential because it's adapted straight from the novel which goes into every detail of how intimate they are and how they start as inexperienced lovers to slowly becoming more comfortable with their intimacies. The show cannot capture that type of passion cause the FL seems to have a no-kiss clause so that itself is holding back its potential. I hate to say it but I feel that perhaps XRH from TBT would be a better choice-LHC is a tad stoic but has simple chemistry with WAY (who has expressive eyes for her), however, she cannot seem to portray that passion for him from what I see, unless anyone thinks cheek pecks and cute smiley faces is it then I'm outta words lol. I honestly dislike that fact that it feels like this issue is overweighing the rest of the drama. But the crew also sold us an image of some sort of passionate love. Even the trailers had them almost kissing but all we're getting is fake camera angles. Double-whammy indeed.

I kid you not, it really exemplifies that. The car braked hard and we all got a good ol' whiplash. Actually, it was more like I was chomping on my juicy burger and it tasted dry and flavorless half way. Was refused a refund and left with a bitter taste in my mouth.

This drama feels similar to L&P in some ways. As this drama is purely based on romance, it feels quite lacking in that department especially when it comes to FL, she's suppose to the daring one, the one that flirts and ask for affection verbally. But when it actually comes to it physically, I feel like she holds back and restrains. That's the vibe I get from her sometimes and this doesn't pertain just to kisses. The novel was much more fun to read, it's more detailed and captures their "passionate" love affair.

I found the last two episodes very draggy. A lot of flashbacks and also melancholy vibes all around. It also doesn't help that they skimped out on the more intimate scenes. We're getting a very bland adaptation of the novel. So I'm gonna keep my expectations very low in that department, it'll be easier to watch if I have none. And then there's the annoying ML's friend, I find it incredibly intrusive and always butts into people's business, why the heck he had to celebrate that his friend found love and cause problems? He just doesn't he have anything else to do than pop up whenever?

I definitely feel she has the right to not do kisses if she doesn't feel comfortable. Question is more so why…
To your point again, so is it possible for you to make your "own" comment without making a snide remarks about other people in this thread? From what I see, you are directly criticizing others in your own post because they feel differently. You have the right to post what you think, but so do others. I only made a comment after seeing you dissing people for having a different opinion that is not in line with yours.

Man, I don't know if we should go back and forth with them. We clearly have a different set of opinions with them, the majority of this section speaks for it. I've clearly explained my reasoning but they just want to attack and bash every naysayer and cannot accept any form of criticism. Them calling people "weirdos" for this is just immature and truly condescending. Just the tone is quite glaring makes it seems like it's hard to reason with. I stick by my views so far. I'm glad you are so accepting how different people view it. On another note, we are blowing up this thread.

You calling people "weirdos" sound like your the whiner. I watch what I want to watch and judge how I see it. Whether you like or not, you can't police people what they want to watch it or comment just cause it doesn't suit your line of thought. Do I go and tell others to go watch some other show with kissing if they don't like the direction from this one? Who sounds more irrational? Obviously, I don't think you want to actually want to discuss and go straight to just dissing.

Yup that's exactly my point. These half-baked intimate scenes are jarringly bad. Either you scrap it completely or put in effort to do it convincingly following the novel. I'd be fine with none cause there's no expectations then. I honestly detest these half moments because it's deceptive and lazy.
