I completed the drama and here I am to smack that casting director. Was he drunk or what. The ML showed so much…
Lol girl you read my mind. Gu Yan seemed like the better choice. I am head scratching why ML chose to love FL, sometimes I was like he got stuck in some toxic relationship and couldn't get out. FL is emotionally distant and in her own world most of the time, has low EQ and just doesn't give a care in the world. When ML wanted to kiss her in the hotel, she just stopped him, asked him if he ain't mad anymore and told him to go for a jog to calm down. LMAO, like who wrote this? I can't anymore with the director who doesn't seem to know romance.
This drama could’ve reached the pinnacle like Hidden Love, Wifty did; only if they had casted the fl a bit more…
I don't know about that. I think there was some controversy there in HL but it wasn't as heated there. Interesting it was overshadowed by ZLS acting, I don't usually watch her shows a lot but she really did execute SZ to perfection, felt she just has a knack for the romance genre and she played it very convincing like she was straight out of the novel. FL here felt hard to watch, it was a mismatch to the novel character.
Please give me spoilers 1 Is there a love triangle? If yes, how intense is it?2 When do the leads get together?3…
1 - minor love triangle not intense at all just a crush from the third party; 2 - around ep 10 to 11; 3 - they separated when he moved to another country but he came back to stay in the same school as her to get back with her; 4 - happy ending but very bland few episodes.
It was a weird casting choice to begin with. So people are rightfully frustrated by it. For me, it definitely soured that they pulled these tricks to fool the audience. So there's a mix of frustrated viewers and LHC die-hard fans defending her for people bashing her. Some comments more constructive but others outright mean. I didn't like her acting but it was hard to reason with the die-hards cause they yelling out others for having an opinion are haters and weirdos with IQ problems but their biases clouded their judgments.
It's actually complicated. FL supposedly has this no-kiss clause but she or her agency picked up a script, as you know titled "passionately in love" adapted from a novel where there are heated intimate scenes. So people respect that she has boundaries but head scratching why she walked into a genre where it requires it. And even more so why the director chose no-kiss actress for this. So the production team botched up the fake kiss scenes really poorly and everybody is frustrated cause they should've just left it out instead if it cannot be delivered for a romance drama. In addition, there isn't much plot to it.
LOL. I dropped it after watching the first 25min, and now reading the comments that the entire show was bleh,…
You just saved yourself from a lot of pain and frustration. I enjoyed the first 5, it had some issues but not unwatchable until it went downhill. FL's personality is so off putting and not just cause of those infamous non-kiss scenes. I don't know if she was suppose to be this sassy woman but she came off as a narcissist. Sometimes I feel like she's from another dimension. ML is just a love sick puppy. The whole dynamic was like the FL owns and feeds him and he is forever loyal to her. I mean if you call that romantic whatever flows then. Visually both leads look compatible and appears has the right formula to make it a success on paper but it's steering towards a train wreck. The last few episodes were very boring that I nearly fell asleep. I had this on my watchlist. Damn so much potential but so little substance. Quite disappointed.
Well I binged watch to the end, wow, such a dud. The ending is predicable, dull and boring and flat. It had potential but then had no plot or substance but used ALOT of fillers. I can't even sit through the whole thing before FF. The last few eps also focus on the love story for the supporting leads. Man, I am surprised I stuck to the end and glad that it's finally over.
Think of it as please respect the audience which they (as in the whole team) didn't do. No one is "hating" on…
It's not a dumb analogy. You might not agree but this is what happens IRL, the name of the restaurant is etched to the food and service they received when they visited the first time. Again, first impressions. And Word travels first, "I went there, the food taste horrible. Don't go there." I've heard countless times. When someone ask, "did you visit this new restaurant?" and then usually the answer is: "yes the food and service was so terrible. I don't recommend." Do you actually hear: "yes the the food and service was so bad but I recommend going there cause maybe it might be better the next time around, maybe they just hired one bad chef." And I find it strange why you are criticizing people for having standards too. I have no comments on Derailment, just so you know, I don't comment on shows I never watched.

Fair enough. I also cannot tolerate people who attack her personally especially with looks. Focus on the acting. But there is that fine line she is treading: the fact she is in a passionate drama with a lot (and I mean that) of kiss scenes and she's a no-kiss actress. I agree that they shouldn't be commenting on her non-aired ones either based on this drama. But as you see, first impressions matter and it trickles down to her whole career. If a person goes to a restaurant and the food and service is terrible, would they ever going back? Probably not, people will leave bad Google reviews and not tip. Same thing here.
Interesting you now mention you haven't watched this drama yet, then what are you pushing back other people thoughts on this when you don't have an understanding of the context? I suggest you read the novel and watch the whole show then you might have a different pov why people are saying what they see.
Think of it as please respect the audience which they (as in the whole team) didn't do. No one is "hating" on her as a person and her boundaries which you repeated say. She is a very pretty girl, that's a fact. From what I see here, most are just giving constructive criticism on her performance in this drama only for reasons you already know. Your her hard-core fan, but mind you, many people who are posting here, this is their first time watching her. It'd be hypocritical to say she is so good when its not, you want people to lie to themselves?
She might be a bonafide star in other movies, but first impressions matter and she simply looked awkward as hell, man, I felt that hard when I watched her. It's ok for her to have boundaries, no one is saying she sucks for that. I don't know her circumstances why she "chose or be chosen" but if a project generates criticism, guess where the blame goes to right away? I've said it multiple times, she just too green in romance genres. Sure she can improve but if it makes her squirm again, why force herself to be miserable doing it and viewers have to feel it? Is it entirely her fault alone? Probably not. You can blame it on the director, production crew, agency but in the end, it's still her career and she holds a lot of weight too in how it looks.
Ngl, I can't even watch her in another romance ever again cause you know I have expectations, but maybe I'll opt to see her in other genres.
