While everyone is frustrated and simmering over the latest development of the villain, may I draw your attention to the beautiful costumes? I mean, they are so elegant, well made and gorgeous! I’m finding myself examining the garments’ structures, textures and details. Just amazing. The last time I was this interested was LBFAD.

When I started watching this and never turned back. I have confidence in this director. So far, it’s been great!

Just start already. All the high rating on various platforms won’t disappoint. However, this is not a drama you can multitask with or you’ll be coming back her asking questions. 😂

These costumes definitely look like they were made for this drama. They are very detailed to this Ming Dyasty and are so exquisitely detailed! The embroidery on the sleeve. The darts on his golden mid layer (they layer over his white undergarments).. even the fabrics for each character. So beautiful..

I read a post with a link where the producer described her section of the team. Everyone was carefully selected based on their past works (many had won awards) - costumer, martial artist, direction, main leads, etc. Avenue X also explained how the director saved $ by being very thoughtful during filming. He had a vision when he shoots the scenes so that there wouldn’t be excessive wasteful shots and all the shots were cohesive. The team used their $$ where it counts so probably more $ could be spent on costumes if less is spent on actors and director, etc.

Just a note - I believe SM’s voice is a voice actor’s not LYR’s. Good actor none the less.
