I can see where you are coming from. In many ways I agree. Li xun is not an easy character to like. He’s antisocial, narcissistic, and selfish. If something doesn’t benefit him in some way, he doesn’t want to waste his time on it. If he treated Gao as a friend and patiently guided him and be more understanding instead of constantly belittling him, things would probably be different. In the beginning I hated the way he was with the FL. But once I understood his character better, I learned to appreciate all the little things he’s willing to do for her.. Li Xun is a man of very few words and nearly just as much action. Everything he does and say is precise and intentional. He is a man of efficiency. To him, making friends and socializing is a waste of time. That’s why his friendship with the FL is so out of character. She is the only one who’s opinion he values. The only one he listens to, laughs with, and who he lets down his guard with. While these things seems trivial but it is a great deal coming from someone who has sociopathic tendencies. Perhaps that is the reasons for her attraction to him.

36 episodes doesn’t seem like it’s going to be enough for this type of storyline. WRtW was 36 and the editing was quite choppy. Political dramas are usually drawn out.

Really really tired of the second leads…….

The only ones that they have is seriously giving me a headache trying to understand it.

She’ll mature more and then you’ll miss her naive bubbly personality. I know I did…..

You get use to it and as she matures through trials it gets less annoying and a bit more normal. However this is the actress’ real voice. Her character in the beginning is to showcase the stark differences between the leads. She is young, innocent, and bubbly. And the ML is dark, majestic, and dangerous. She acts like this because her character calls for it. Not because she’s a terrible actress. Give the drama a chance. It’s amazing.

I paused this drama from about ep 15 because I didn’t want to get too invested if it’s a sad ending. I didn’t want to put myself through an emotional rollercoaster if the endgame didn’t justify it. Good thing because I would be freaking livid right now……it would’ve been better if they just died in each others’ arms.

Someone commented about lack of bed scenes but who needs those scenes when their kissing scenes can convey so much more.

I’ve already started my 3rd rewatch……

Some people complained about the FL’s voice but it’s part of her personality. She’s bubbly and quite innocent.
