About the ending credits - what are your thoughts??? See comment below
Ok thanks to everyone who mentioned the ending credits lol I was skimming through ep 40 to spoil myself (terrible I know) and was wondering where the reunion scene in the modern world was (because we all saw that fancam).
So they actually placed it in the ending credits! Loool. I agree with those who commented below - NH was NF all along but likely didn’t have his memories when he transmigrated to the story. That is the only plausible explanation because as smart as NH is, there is no way he would be able to act so naturally after coming to a different world. At least that is the only way I can interpret it. Perhaps that is why the algebra and English came so naturally for him. Looking back, there were moments where he said or did things that were not appropriate for that era.
That brings us back to ep 1 where we see NF in his sunglasses (just like in the end)…and also when the writer said NH is exactly like NF.
After watching ep28 I realize that Nan Rui is cruel in way that a stupid child is. He speaks with utmost sincerity…
Hard to believe he is the Empress’s son lol. They’re so different. And I guess no one is gonna give a better explanation on how the Emperor is all “nice” now when he hated NH since he was born lol. Also, I still can’t believe the Emperor held hope on NR being crown prince, you are a smart man so you should know he is incapable
Wow that is a huge statement! Everyone was all about The Prisoner of Beauty, which I watched up til halfway and…
He definitely gained recognition for being a top kisser in that one though 👀 the kiss scenes prob boosted the popularity too lol. But the story was meh and boring imho
8.5 is really low, in my opinion this is so far liu yunings best drama
Wow that is a huge statement! Everyone was all about The Prisoner of Beauty, which I watched up til halfway and couldn’t continue anymore. Not that the acting was poor but I must be the minority - just couldn’t get into the storyline. I prefer this one over that.
I just want to say as frustrating as some characters/events have been, I enjoyed these discussions! It goes to show how much attention the show is getting. I also appreciate the refreshing storyline that is a bit different than the rest and the fact that it is not a novel adaptation. It’s really nice not having to compare it to the original (and getting upset over changes from the novel etc), and not knowing what to expect.
Can’t believe the series is ending soon, until then, happy watching and chatting everyone!

You mean a father who shows tough love in order to help the son become a good ruler? (I mean that's the only thing I can think of, but still very cliche of a plot and cannot redeem him - abuse is still abuse!) I will say the Emperor is a very smart man, so it would be unrealistic for him to believe that NR can even be considered a candidate for the throne lol
