I think he was just nervous when the ex held his arm in front of his wife because he didn't know how to explain the situation to her as he has to come clear about chen chen and mary, he has moved on because he held his wife's hand immediately after that and took her out, he called his friend immediately telling him he doesn't know how to tell si le about the ex and afraid that she might think she's the mom.. he got his ring done just after that incident and told her he's married.. also, at the company when he met the ex breifly for 2 mins, he didn't take any of her bullsh*t, moved her hand away and got out when she held his hand... I think in the upcoming eps 19-20, at least the ex problem will be solved with hao yi affirming his love to his wife..

I assumed he was married or at least they lived together once as he had a billiard room in his house, that's my point here. She has no relation to the situation now except for that she's the ex.. I don't remember the ml showing her pictures, when was that?? Except if it is in the preview or some sort of a theory.. He just told him his mother will return when he's five yrs old maybe because he didn't know what to tell him. The kid is convinced his mother is si le not the ex as he never saw her whom I think is not the mother anyway.. the kid thinks sil le is the mother because hao yi told him his mother is out saving the world and will return with a bigger cake tham his birthday one, and ironically she saved him in the party with the cake behind her.. and I don't think hao yi knows the relation between mary and si le, he's afraid to ask her as he'll have to come clear on his side too and they lose what they have now..
I don't think the ex is chen chen mother. We have the brooches that are a significant proof that the kids are twins or related somehow. My theory is si le's sister is the mother, the father is hao yu's brother but the song family didn't meet the mother before, maybe because both parents met aboard, the father died in an accident or smth and si le's sister committed suic*de at that bridge after her lover died, she kept mary and sent chen chen to the song family with the brooch hoping someday the kids will meet again... Hao yu was married before to the ex who I think knows everything about chen chen situation but agreed to keep it a secret with Hao yu.. I think the grandpa also knows everything..
