Ep 25:
The marriage scene is so touching, the mother's blessing to Zhao Ling and Ting Yun is so meaningful and filled with love. There have been many wedding scenes in countless historical dramas, but this is one of the most meaningful and beautiful.

Title The Road to Splendor Spoiler
I have so many questions after watching ep 22-23. When the fl nominated her sister-in-law's older brother for…
It would not be seen as nepotism or cause trouble for the ML because the Emperor wants to choose the most appropriate person for the position based on merit, regardless of whether this person is related to anyone. The exact Chinese phrase used in the show was "举贤不避亲".

Ultimately, there were 2 final candidates presented to the Emperor and it was the Emperor who made the decision to appoint Shen Cong Xi, so the Court Officials will not question or have issues with the decision.

The FL is not senselessly meddling with the ML's career, in fact she is doing all this to ensure that the ML has a dependable and knowledgeable person assisting him in the reforms. I believe the ML also understands that Shen Cong Xi was the best candidate but he didn't want to give any trouble to the FL (as SCX was related to her) which was partly why he rejected Shen Cong Xi.

I love the dynamic and chemistry between Zhao Ling and Ting Yun, they feel like a true married couple. The silent understanding they have for each other, the way they express their concerns clearly, each relying on one another.

Road to Splendor just gets more and more interesting with each episode!

It's been so hard for me to pick this up after ep 16 idk I just feel like nothing is changing with tingyuns character…
The story just gets better and better with each episode! After all the hardships that the couple went through in the 5 years, the power couple has finally reunited back in the capital. Ting Yun's story is just getting started, she is the brains while Zhao Ling is the sword. It's so fun watching her put Mrs Yu and Fan Ya Ke on their toes again.

Title The Road to Splendor Spoiler
We're speculating if father killed his mom to have an excuse to grieve. Since her death was timely.
Yes! When Zhao Ling mentioned that Grand Matriarch Fu died around the same time as the dad's screw up, I believe they are hinting that there is something nefarious about her death. If true, then karma came back full circle for what Grand Matriarch Fu did to her grand daughter (FTY).

Just finished eps 15-16. Stopping here for today, I was purposely a bit behind so when it shifts to 1 ep, I can…
Gosh how I wish I had your willpower! I also tried to be a little behind schedule so I would have a steady supply of episodes but I had no self-restraint, got so hooked on the drama that I binged everything. So now I am literally waiting for new episodes to be dropped everyday.

And yes this Yu Jingxiu makes my blood boil, to me he is worse than Fan Ya Ke.

Completely enjoying and hooked on this drama, the plot is so refreshing, the cinematography is beautiful and the filming locations are places not often seen in other period dramas.
The drama title is very aptly named, it is truly the journey of our leads on their road to splendor, no shortcuts and nothing glamorous, just them vs the world.

The storyline is very intriguing, it delves into many layers, about how everything is calculated through the eyes of leveraging benefit, climbing the social ladder and amassing wealth. Every character are complex individuals, each with their own desires, grievances and motivations. The acting of the whole cast is top notch, it is a joy to watch them bring these characters to life.

I loved how the scriptwriter portrays its female characters. Often writers would just throw in a half-baked "jealous friend/sister/stepmother" plot which comes off as shallow but here every female character is given a proper backstory, each spotlighting the realistic issues women faced at that time.

Our leads actually truly "earns their keep", Zhao Ling is a witty, tenacious and upright individual while Fu Ting Yun is smart, sharp and has a way with words. Problems keeps finding its way to the couple but they never give up and fight their way through injustice.

At this point, this drama is one of the very few well-written dramas that I have come across this year. Great plot, intriguing characters, an amazing watch.

Up till the end, her mother is simply a selfish, self-centered person. Always taking advantage of her daughter's kind heart.

As a whole, the drama is worth a watch but there are areas which the production team could have done better at.

Positives: I like the chemistry and interactions between the 2 leads, the supporting casts such as the Shi Fu(s) and Hu Jia Ping worked great for the plot. My fav side couple is Baili Ge Lin and Lu Li. While the story follows the classic reincarnation/dual character plot, I appreciate how the story made a clear distinction between Lei Xiu Yuan and Ye Cha. While Lei Xiu Yuan actions were influenced by Ye Cha, he was always still Lei Xiu Yuan and could think for himself. I was worried it was going to go for the usual cliche ending but it didn't.

Negatives: At times, the story seemed to be going nowhere and the plot became convoluted with the excessive number of side characters, side stories and couples. I got quite confused towards the 3/4 mark of the drama. The scriptwriter should have scaled down and focused on about 2 side couples/stories. While the ending was satisfactory and justice prevailed, the antagonist characters got away with too much for too long. It almost got a little tiring when the antagonist appeared again and was doing evil again.

Is it possible to get season two of this or not ?I am afraid this will has same rumor like Reset and we never…
Tbh don't have too much hope on a season 2. If at this stage it is only cryptic hints, then it is unlikely to come to fruition. Also, the 2 main leads are popular and busy actors, so it will take time to align the actors schedule.

Title Game Start
I went into this movie not expecting much, but it exceeded all expectations and kept me glued for the entirety of the movie. It dives deep into the human heart and the disparity of choices and opportunities that people has depending on their birth.

The movie is held up by a cast of young actors and they all did amazing. Ding Yu Xi's and Peng Yu Chang's acting were impeccable, showing different sides of the character as the story progressed.

The pacing is good and the many twists are cleverly done. Worth a watch!

So..... I understand why Ding Yuxi said he needed some time after his role to mentally recover, I personally feel…
Agree! I feel ZHX is doing what Xie Jiu Ye told him over chess. To deploy the tactic of confusing the enemy by he himself becoming some kind of wayward member of the Zhang Family. Making MYG believe that he can work with ZHX.

That is just my guess though haha

ok so that was one crazy plot twist that made NO SENSE to me...what the hell do you mean by Hai Xia could be Mo…
Based on my understanding, they are not saying ZHX is literally Mo Yun Gao.
Xie Jiu Ye is hinting that the real Mo Yun Gao has already changed his appearance and identity.

That Mo Yun Gao has plotted everything to ensure no one will suspect that he is the person that they are looking for. And that everything which ZHX/ZHY went through were actually all part of MYG's plot. Basically, MYG has plotted all these to mislead ZHX/ZHY to the wrong conclusion. But by letting ZHX/ZHY assume that they independently came to this conclusion, no one then will question its validity.

Which was why ZHY swiped the chess pieces off the board. ZHY is saying that then we will not play by the rules, in that way, Mo Yun Gao cannot anticipate them.

Tbh the conversation between ZHX and XJY is like playing 5D chess, I am also trying to decipher it LOL

so why the soldiers were all ok in that cave? those western dudes just died the moment they sniffed that twilight…
I believe the soldiers will not be able to leave completely fine.
Ep 22 trailer seems to hint that something occurred.
