I suspect a fair few do, but they then demand more like how the so-called reverse harem is supposed to look and behave. That sort of cancels out the message by resorting to the more basic and superficial!

I never even knew it went out of the norm until I saw what what was written by some. But I agree, sometimes, people really need to accept a story that doesn't pander to their personal fantasies, it's not as if there's not enough of that already.
i see a lot of ppl complain abt how stale bread and 3 year intelligence of a character ML is, but when you think…
That's because most viewers are female and they want the drama to cater to their desires and as you point out, when it's reversed, they can't see issue much because to some (not all) women characters are even invisible. You see this often on comments sections where the women characters are brushed aside. But when it suits, the same female viewers want and even demand strong female characters especially in historic/costume dramas, knowing full well, it's not totally realistic. This is why some dramas end up the way they are with mis-castings and unrealistic storylines.
Although I agree ML's personality may not be the cup of tea of many, the problem for me it's not his personality,…
@Eko, force feeding us to like certain leads happens often in dramas, and in this drama no different. Personally, I see nothing wrong with a ML acting this way, and it's not to everyone's cup of tea, I get that, but this idea of growth and making him seem like a "proper" ML seems odd for me as the drama has been odd from beginning to now. I think it's very much in tone with the rest of the drama in which they mix the sublime with the ridiculous. That to me has been consistent. I actually hope ML doesn't change drastically as that would not fit in with the mood of this drama.

Hey, maybe I didn't make it clear in my last post. The comment about down-voting was not to you but examples I have seen happening when the ending does not match with a "fairy-tale" end. A journey to Love anyone?
As for the title, there is much speculation of why such a generic title. Perhaps drama makers think inserting anything with the word love gets more watchers. I think the title is a play with A Mai's journey which was motivated by revenge but ended with love. But not classic love story love, but absorbing others' care and love. ML may well be the obvious linking but I think she doesn't end with anyone. She will find out what really happened on the night her parents were killed and the person she's going after is not going to be her true target.
also I think they act like an old married couple. If they were old no one would say anything.
All good. My comment was more about many other comments bemoaning about lack of chemistry. The drama may not follow the path of the original story. The title may be two reasons. They think adding the words love in any drama might attract more lookers, but as seen, the over saturation of the word has led to an opposite effect.

BL dominates too much in dramaland and because most dramas are catering to females too much, the fantasy element has tilted to demand for "more" unrealistic dreamy fairy-tales. Your second comment is quite stereo-typical. Not all old people behave the way of "old married" couple, yet not all younger people behave shy or fixated.
Finally, has anyone thought that the title fighting for love is not about the type of love many are talking about? It could be, they know there are too many classic revenge stories and want to turn it on its head and the ultimate fight was in the end about love not hate. The story is probably A Mai's journey from hate to love.

@mysteryqueen9 The problem with answers like yours show you still fall into believing stories should be about some sort of journey and should have dated fairytale endings. Story of Minglan ML character was a classic draggy stock character. It was deliberately set up so that he had that "journey" which to be honest was the weakest part of the story. Story of Minglan's success was the details of family saga and the lesser characters surrounding social/class and not ML's development.
This drama looks very unpredictable which is why A Journey to Love had a bit of success due to not knowing which way it goes, but it seems too many childishlessly down vote dramas because their drama's ending didn't have a "fairy tale" ending.
Why is seven’s new rumoured period drama not yet added on MDL. Is it not yet confirmed. And if not then why…
I think this is the new drama. It's been set up already, but names not confirm 'officially' yet. TSY female lead, Hou Ming Hao and Wang Duo are other rumoured casts.
I'm confused why some people have been saying the ending is ambiguous? I also don't understand why people reacted…
The ending was fine with me too. I think too many viewers are in some kind of fairy tale land. The whole point of the story was to show that love can be for that moment, and no matter how many promises or planning, they all enjoyed their time whilst it lasted. The irony is the few characters that are alive were the ones the team was supporting in a strange way (directly or indirectly). It's glamourising sacrifices made and showing how fragile small mistakes can make.
Beautifully told. Almost dream-like. Mixing seriousness with comedy makes this drama more powerful, helped by the music. Yu Zhe Jia played by Su Ke was one of the funniest and memorable characters that stood out for me. But everyone did a great job. Highly recommend it for those looking for high quality costumes, settings and good script.
I'm on episode 18. It just gets better. Packed with toxic and messy stuff. Right up my street. So entertaining, funny and fast paced. Not seen anything like this in ages.
Lol, China's a massive country. There's a whole range of features there. If you go to China, and travel around then you'll see this. XZ is attractive, and he definitely looks Chinese to me.
I just wanna clarify a plot that some people are calling redundant, the part where the crippled prince tried to…
This is one of those mad-cap story lines where this drama goes off the rails. Prince Dang Yang is flattened and half dead under a signage, the next 2 hours, he's standing bolt upright like nothing had happened to him. I think it's just a short-cut poor excuse to get Ru Yi & Ning Yuan Zhou back, cutting out all the middle-bits. I'm not entirely sure how both suddenly come to such insight where elsewhere in the storyline there were next to no hints. It's one of those cheated moments. Felt like someone was desperate to close out something in a hurry. It could well be funding shortage, but that was not what I felt when seeing this happen.
