Good Enough
Japanese Drama " Risky " has a well-crafted dark atmosphere. The drama starts quite intriguing, with a to-the-point cinematography, a gloomy feel to every shot, and some marvelous camera angles that add to the thriller. The performances suited the story perfectly as well, and gave a twisted note to the events. The beginning, actually, is pretty exciting, with lots of suspense, as the plot is slowly being unfolded and the characters are being introduced. However, the drama slowly loses its might, as the ending falls flat and the whole story doesn't manage to give a good perspective of the characters. The twists were messy too.
So, overall, six out of ten.

Korean Drama " Mad For Each Other " is a short drama that manages to pack in not only romance and comedy, but also deeper issues that were all well explored. The story starts on a comical note, as the viewer gets to know who's who, and the two main characters get into one misunderstanding after the other. In that beginning, the male lead is more likable and gets the biggest part of sympathy, as the female lead acts, well, crazy. But, as the story gets revealed, slowly but steadily, everyone's actions are justified and the story turns more dramatic, enhancing into issues like dating violence, family dynamics and relationships, even gender identity. And even though the drama is short in length, everything is blended nicely and even the romance gets a smooth pacing.
As for the performances, everyone did a great job with their characters and even the side characters were enjoyable.
So, overall, eight out of ten, because the ending was a bit cliche.

Korean Drama " Mr Queen " is clever, interesting and original. The drama builds up the story slowly but steadily, using the comedy element to keep things interesting while doing so.One of the best things about the drama is the leading lady. The actress was spectacular, shifting from one personality to another with ease and acting splendidly in her comedy scenes. She also had good chemistry with her partner.
The male lead was, in addition, pretty great, dramatic when he had to, funny at other times and dynamic at others. He also acted the action scenes well.
The rest of the story was entertaining, with a nice blend of comedy, romance, drama and historical-political action. And even though the romance is unconventional, it was well built and had a smooth pace.
As for the ending, it wasn't perfect, but I guess it was the best they could do under the story's circumstances.
So, overall, nine out of ten.

" Today Office Tomorrow Romance " did not manage to pull off the story. I guess somewhere between explaining what happened to the FL and how much she has suffered from her ex, the magic was lost. For an office drama, Today Office Tomorrow Romance took the perspective of dating in the office. And where other dramas show the viewer the pros and cons of an office love story, this one opted on romanticizing everything and throwing all the blame on the bad personality of the ex character. Most of the drama goes by while we see the main character struggling to get over what happened to her and the rest of them justifying her behavior on that event.
On a positive note, however, the business case they took upon was okay and entertaining for a while. Still, the main love story was rushed, too sudden, and almost cheesy.
Finally, for the performances, everyone did great, though the FL was a bit awkward in the beginning. But, she was fine after that shaky start.
So, overall, 3 out of 10.

" Start Up " was a nice blend of business, youth, and romance. The drama starts with a slightly melo beginning, setting the foundation for a smooth start off the whole love story, the sisters war and the business creation.Firstly, the romance was nice. The leads had chemistry and the love story bloomed smoothly. However, the love triangle was a bit off, mostly because the leading lady seemed to be indifferent towards the second lead, who was the only one pulling all the weight of their relationship.
Now, for the sibling relationship, the drama did a good job presenting their story and using their differences to propel the other storylines of the drama. The two also had chemistry, however the progress of their relationship was rushed sometimes and felt like somethings were skipped.
As for the business twist, the Start Up was a nice touch to add and it worked well, as the drama presented some of the difficulties start ups go through (of course under the umbrella of the Sand Box competition).
The side characters, moreover, were entertaining and added some comedy reliefs when it was needed.
Finally, the performances were great from everyone in the cast. The soundtrack was top notch too and quite enjoyable.
So, overall, eight out of ten.

" Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii " was a bit disappointing.First of all, the leading lady was simply adorable. She did a great job with her character and she was entertaining and refreshing. Her music acts were well danced too. The male lead was nice too, but he could do better.
Now, the premises of the story are good, but the execution was bad. The musical acts were interesting overall, but they overtook the focus of the movie. That resulted in having too little time for the actual story, which had a messy pace and didn't allow for the characters to really develop or for the audience to get to know them. The ending was disappointing too.
So, overall, three out of ten.

" Noble, my love " was simply bad.The premises of the drama were interesting, and I do love the twist with the contracted dating or marriage scheme. However, this drama didn't handle it very well. And it wasn't because they used too many cheesy trops, which you kind of expect from a romantic comedy.
Things started looking fishy when in the scene where the girl is saving the CEO, she takes off his shirt to clean his wound, and while he is there bleeding, she just stares at his abs... And if that is not enough of a warning sign, then the drama will only get worse and more frustrating.
The male lead is simply insufferable. He is not the cold guy who acts arrogant but he is kind of cute. No, he says that he is a dominant and he treats the girl as his property, taking over her job, even her own life. He keeps yelling at her to not meet other guys, even if they are her friends, or she meets them by accident. And, even though she doesn't fit her character, she just takes it. And not only that, she actually falls for him. Why? He was a j**rk to her the entire time!
Now, for the girl, she was enjoyable as a character, but she kept acting randomly. She also tended to behave like a child from time to time.
The drama overall was predictable and some of the episodes were boring. The side characters were also underdeveloped and overlooked most of the time.
Finally, for the good parts of the drama, the episodes towards the ending, when the male lead started acting like a human again were actually good. If only the rest of the drama was like that...
So, overall, 2 out of 10.

" Amensalism " had a good mystery, but the rest of the drama was boring. The story about how everyone was connected to the past mystery case was quite solid. And, it would have been a really good drama if they had stuck to that one, and didn't add other plot lines that were underdeveloped. Also, the cases, in the beginning, were interesting, but they were too few.
The romance, on the other hand, was weak, as was the love triangle. Actually, the second lead was more interesting than the main male one. The other side characters were always overlooked and they had no story or actual personality, which is unfortunate, as the team was entertaining. The villains, finally, were predictable and too cliche.
The performances, lastly, was just okay. And the CGI horrible.
So, overall, five out of ten.

Arguably better than the first part, but with fewer episodes, which didn't allow the romance to have the intensity that it should. Nevertheless, it was well constructed, with a cure storyline and a refreshing plot. The main couple had chemistry and there were a lot of funny scenes not only between them, but between the leads and the secondary characters as well. The characters' background was explored in-depth and it added a better perspective to the characters and their stories. The performances, finally, were top notch from all the actors and actresses of the cast.
So, overall, seven out of ten for the second part of the Girl Next Room series.

Probably the drama needed more episodes to actually make the story work, as five of which with only 10 minutes length was hardly enough to explain the complex storyline and the depth of the characters. Still, the performances were top-notch, especially from the leading lady, who nailed the dramatic scenes. The couple had chemistry as well, which helped, as the whole romance took place during the span of one day. The cinematography was just perfect as well, though the scenes in the final episode were a bit too much and reminded of a music video rather than a film. The story, again, was confusing and the whole time skip did not help.
So, overall, six out of ten.

The story was pretty cute and fun at first, though it got a turn towards a more dramatic and dark twist in the final episodes. The love story was sweet, in addition, with a solid background story to support it. The love triangle was interesting too. However, there were some parts that got frustrating to watch, especially towards the ending, as the characters seemed to be getting into circles and they made awkwardly decisions. Still, it was short and sweet, and they did explain everything in the final episode, though the conclusion of the romance needed some more time to get fully developed and believable. Shout out to the adorable and hilarious side characters that made this drama worth it.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

The drama had an odd plot, with the main couple's meeting through a video game, and most of their romantic moments were in that virtual world. The video game scenes were actually well-executed, though the fighting scenes were boring. However, they got less and less as the drama proceeded and they got non existing in the end. The love story was boring too. They started thinking that they were an actual couple just because they got married in the game. The romantic scenes were off too, as the only thing that they actually did was stare at a screen in reality. Anyway, the college part was fun and the groups of friends were pretty adorable and funny. However, that didn't last long either. The business mystery trope was boring too. Finally, the couple was good looking, but their performances were not that great. The leading lady's friend was pretty cute too, however, her love partner was a bit of a j**rk.
So, overall, three out of ten.

The story was nice and cozy, first of all. The music theme was interesting and the way they presented the violin lessons was fresh and clean, not too tiring or boring, so the story concentrated more on the slice of life. The three characters were pretty interesting too. Their stories were warm and had nice family dynamics. However, the romance that was added to the story, though it was okay, it didn't really work because the chemistry wasn't that good, as they seemed more like friends than lovers. Probably the few romantic scenes didn't help with it either.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

The story was interesting and they handled the whole switching bodies quite well. The actors did a good job to share the same character and the transformation to the Chris character was done smoothly. So, overall, the performances were pretty good. The first half was really good as well. However, there were some characters that were annoying and ruined the mood sometimes. The romance was odd too, as the girl, at some point, didn't really know who was in love with. But the action scenes were plenty and entertaining, and the side couple was interesting, although their story was always overlooked.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

The time travel theme was okay, a bit confusing at times, but they presented it well enough and it worked with the love story nicely so there was progress and cute moments of the couple. The latter had chemistry and looked adorable together. Especially the girl was pretty good and enjoyable. The twist towards the end was entertaining as well. But, overall, the movie didn't have enough intensity to make it great.
So, overall, six out of ten.
