So excited to see Krist and Singto back together again for a new project. They've both grown so much since Sotus, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what they bring together in this.

I am SO excited for this, to finally see a full femme gay character in a lead role in what looks like a great production...it should have happened by now 10x over but I hope this kickstarts what I want to see more of in this industry.

There have been some great plots teased for BL this year, it's so exciting to see. As someone who has been watching Thai BL since it's early beginnings way back in 2013/14 the variety of stories being told alone is incredible and so heartening.

I loved 10 things I hate about you (it hat a really nice soundtrack)! The play is IMO to misogynistic (I know…
Totally understandable, and even here in the U.S. where we do have his works commonly in schools, you rarely really dive into deep analysis unless you're taking literature courses at University haha schools just cover him because he's part of the classics, we honestly have terrible educational systems for the most part so it's kind of a crime that his work isn't more extensively dissected in schools here since he's a part of the curriculum anyway. And really Shakespeare isn't for everyone either LOL

You should stick for the ride. Probably pretentiousness and entitlement will be around for the first few episodes.…
I don't know, I've learned it's not worth the buzzkill. I come in happy and excited to talk about a latest episode and leave feeling either depressed, pissed off, or irritated which completely defeats the purpose of why I got into watching BL in the first place haha.

I can already tell people are going to be insufferable here, the comment section when this airs is going to be torture, I'm already voluntarily seeing myself out lol

it's a loose adaptation of it, just fyi
No worries! The director just shared about it on twitter haha so a lot of people don't know

Uh...Taming of the Shrew was written in like 1590 lol literally a time when women didn't have rights and were basically considered property. The reason it's still so heavily studied (outside of it being Shakepeare of course) is that so many elements of Katherine herself fall outside of what women were portrayed to be and how they should be during that time. Many consider this (like a lot of Shakespeare's most famous plays) as a commentary on the societal norms of the time, or more simply put the play is a critique. The tone of the play - again like Shakespeare is commonly known for - is purposefully sarcastic and cynical, i.e. showing the realities in an overblown/comedic way but really saying something else entirely. A lot of (well-done) dark comedy is like that actually, usually people who use it are critiquing something very wrong in the process.

p'Jojo said it was a loose adaptation but the set up for the romantic aspects of the way their relationships develop is pretty much the same as in 10 Things/TOTS .

I think people who are criticizing him are mostly commenting that his acting skills needs improving (which I agree…
Saying you feel his acting needs improvement is one thing, but writing essays on how he doesn't deserve what he has, shouldn't be cast, only got his opportunities through his looks (completely negating the fact that everyone he has worked with has complimented his professionalism and work ethic, saying he tries his hardest to take criticism and improve), saying he's dragging Joong down, the list is endless. You can definitely have the opinion that you don't personally like his acting, and that is totally fine, but there is a difference between that and turning it into an opportunity to be petty and hateful for no reason. I'd get it if he were just a shitty person in general, but he's a genuinely nice guy who has befriended literally everyone at gmmtv because he's a caring person. He's done nothing to deserve how genuinely nasty people get about him. One thing I can't stand to see is people getting unnecessary and undeserved hate for simply existing and being successful, it's so grating.

Joong is playing Katherine/Kat, Dunk is playing Petruchio/Patrick, Khao is playing Bianca, and First is playing Lucentio/Cameron. In the trailer you can see the set up for the entire plot of 10 Things/TOTS: Fadel is trying to keep Kant and Bison apart, Kant asks Bison how they can be together, Bison says the only way is if Kant can find someone who will date his brother (best distraction of course), Kant convinces Style to do the job by offering a car he wants as payment, Style then proceeds to try his best to get Fadel to fall for him so that he's off of Kant/Bison's ass with Fadel being rightly suspicious and prickly, they end up falling for each other.

This actually is going to be a romcom of sorts considering it's a take on 10 Things I Hate About You and Taming of the Shrew just with spies and assasins lol

I'm so excited for this to air. I've missed watching JD in a series and I'm really looking forward to them doing something really different. Jojo shared that this is a loose adaptation of 10 Things I Hate About You and Taming of the Shrew except with espionage and assassins, I didn't think I could get more excited and then I read that haha. The fact that Joong appears to be playing Katherine/Kat (the shrew) and Dunk Petruchio/Patrick is a plot twist I didn't know I needed. Of course, Jojo would give us all the makings of a great story.

The fact that the comments are already turning into a Dunk bash fest 🙄. I don't get why people have to be assholes on purpose. Just ignore his existence if you don't like him like tf is he doing to hurt you personally? Jesus lol. People are so massively triggered by him when all he's doing is minding his own business.

It has a happy ending, if kind of ambiguous (i.e. makes you think). I would wholeheartedly recommend this series…
I'm so glad you're enjoying it! I started re-watching it after I commented LOL

You just had to be here when this was airing 🤭
* sighs * I don't think I've ever had so much fun in a comment section on here watching a series. It was the best. Not only was I anticipating each episode airing but knowing I would get to come back and rant/speculate/hypothesize/cry/yell/allthethings!!! with everyone after it was over added a whole other amazing layer of awesome. I also don't think a comment section here has remained as fun and wholesome throughout a series watch ever haha

Why isn't this on YouTube, like other thai dramas?
I'm assuming it has something to do with copyright and what they agreed on who could contractually host the series. If you do a Google search for it it's on a lot of third-party sites though.

I wanna start watching this show, but has it a good or sad ending? I'm not in the mood for sad ending right now…
It has a happy ending, if kind of ambiguous (i.e. makes you think). I would wholeheartedly recommend this series if you're thinking of giving it a chance, it's one of the best I've seen both in and out of BL.

This has been surprisingly hilarious, I'm enjoying it way more than I thought I would. Two words: penis fish lmao who knew? I literally had to look up if it was legit and read the whole entry on Gastro Obscura (one of my favorite websites when I visit other countries btw). The Hangover and EuroTrip are some of my all-time favorite unhinged comedies and this is honestly kind of giving that Thai BL style 😂 I feel like the first episode to set things up dragged, but the second definitely made up for it, so I'm hoping the rest of the series is just as funny.
