This series couldve been amazing, sadly terrible writing ruined it.

I wish I could give this above 3 stars, but I just can't. The only reason its even that high is because of Ashing and Mangkorn. It was so just bad..
The plot was super confusing and made almost no sense most of the time. I felt like there were so many loose ends at the end that they never explain. It's really disappointing because the premise of the show was very interesting and honestly with better writing I feel like this could have been amazing even with only 6 episodes for the show. The side couples story line wasn't confusing and I actually loved their story, but we got so little of it 🥺
As much as I love Boun and Prem, I barely cared about their pairing in this story. They didnt flesh anything out and it didnt even feel like they had romantic feelings for each other till the last episode. Then all we got was an accidental kiss and two sniff kisses. It just felt like a weird choice to me especially since the side couple kissed.
I'm the type of person that feels kissing isnt always necessary for the story, but it just really irritates me when BLs do an accidental kiss or a one-sided kiss as the only kiss for the couple.
Honestly, Ashing and Mangkorn are the only thing that got me through this and kept me watching. I'm just really sad they got such little screen time cause their story was super cute!
For me personally, I would never watch this series in its entirety again. As I said before, it was just so bad I wouldnt put myself through this again. I would, and probably will, rewatch Ashing and Mangkorns moments because I loved them.

Loved the first 6 episodes, but sadly the last 2 kind of ruined it for me..

This series started off so well, but sadly the last couple episodes just ruined it for me.
One thing that bothered me is that while I can definitely see Yoojae's jealousy, I don't think they did enough to show that he had real romantic feelings for Hanjoon. I do feel like he did, but maybe just didnt understand fully his feelings for his friend. They didnt show that in the series well though. Which made the ending jump to dating weird to me. It mostly felt like he was dating Hanjoon in order to not loose him. I dont believe that, but its kind of how it came across.
I wish they had showed the moments after the kiss scene and showed Yoojae have this moment of realization afterwards.. That small moment, along with the jealousy he'd already been feeling, would have added so much.
Speaking of the kiss.. I'm not one to really care about kiss scenes, if a series is good I like it regardless if there is one or not. However, I really dislike angled kiss scenes. I would rather see a flat kiss than an angled one, thats just my opinion. These two do have great chemisty and the storyline was good so it doesn't bother me to much, but it still annoyed me.
I could have easily overlooked that though because again, to me, kiss scenes to do not make or break a series. What annoyed me the most was the last two episodes. I'm sorry, it was rushed and terrible in my opinion. The fact that it went from Hanjoon avoiding Yoojae, to not very long later them talking and deciding to date, then the cute basketball/jealousy scene, like a half a minute montage, and now they've been dating 100 days... seriously 🙄
We barely even got to see them act together as boyfriends.. The last 5 minutes of 9 and most of 10 were mostly for drama that had barely been set up in the first place.
Overall I liked this series, but the ending fell flat for me. Sadly it fell victim to what other kbl's have.. Not enough runtime. I feel like if this series had been given 40 minute episodes it could've been so much better!

I have some complaints, but overall I loved this show!

I loved this show! I binged it in only a couple days because I couldn't stop watching. I only have a couple complaints. First, I hate how quickly they became sex friends. Literally all in the same episode scenes back to back. Type asks Tharn to have sex only one time as repayment, they have a little moment with Tharn confiding about his past, and then the literal next scene is them getting tested and now their are sex friends. I really felt like their should have been at least an episode between. Like Type can't stop thinking about it and caves. It just made it feel like scenes were missing when I watched it. Another complaint is how the writers tried to make me sympathize with Lhong. I'm sorry I dont care how fucking lonely he was, he literally paid 3 guys to gang-rape a 10th grader, tried to pass it off as if Tar wanted it, and then almost killed Type. Nothing he can do or say will ever make any of that ohkay. There is nothing the writers can put in, that will make my sympathize with someone who would do that. I also was kinda disappointed that they teased other couples, but it never went anywhere. I'm just holding out hope that maybe they are in season 2.
Despite all my complaint this series was amazing and I loved it despite its flaws. Definitely one I will probably rewatch.

Decent series for a one time watch - Very very minor spoilers

This was an interesting storyline and though it's definitely not my favorite, it was a pretty good series. I don't feel like the pacing was always the best, it didn't always flow very well, and it was very predictable in my opinion however I did enjoy watching it. There was at least one twist I didn't see coming right away, I didn't catch on until the episode before it was revealed, so at least there was that.

As for the romance, I really enjoyed the friends to lover's plot. I love that it used the murder mystery to create a mixture of jealousy and genuine concern coming from Seong Hoon. And while the main two actors didn't have the strongest chemistry, it was good enough that I really enjoyed their scenes together and especially of them struggling with their feelings for the other. Especially when it came to Jay! Watching him slowly develop feelings, realize that he was developing feelings for Seong Hoon, panic, and then accept it was a joy. Again, not the strongest chemistry I've seen, but they were cute together. I'm also really glad we got a genuine kiss between the two of them because I was going to be slightly irritated if all we got was two drunk kisses.

I will say, the language thing was done oddly in this series. I get the point of them making some of the characters Thai majors was to explain why they could all understand Jay speaking Thai. However, in my opinion that actually made it worse than if they'd just not explained it. The only reason I say that is because by making them Thai majors it put more emphasis and focus on Jay being Thai. Considering nobody in the show spoke it but him, you wouldn't really want to put even more focus on it. By having none of them speak to Jay in Thai, especially when he is alone with them, made the language part of the series stand out more to me. With them being Thai majors, you would expect them to speak to him in Thai at least occasionally. Same thing with him to them. It's not something I super care about I just thought it was odd.

Overall, this was a decent enough series and, at least in my opinion, is good for at least a one-time watch. It had its cute moments, had its angsty moments, and even had a pretty good mystery even if it was mostly predictable. I don't think this is one I would ever watch again, but I don't feel like my time was wasted either. This was an enjoyable watch.

100% Recommend, this series was phenomenal!!

Everything about this series was beyond amazing! The acting, music, editing, and special effects all of it was done so perfectly! Especially the editing, they did such a phenomenal job with the transitions from young to old! I loved the original movie, but this series was leagues better and I already want to watch it again. Though I had to buy a copy off ebay to see it with english subs, it was 100% worth it!
The only thing that brought down my rating a little, and only a very small amount, is two things.
First, Ji Hoon grew on me but it did start to get on my nerves how much screen time they were devoting to a couple who wasnt going to be endgame anyways. By the end of the series I felt so bad for him that his feelings weren't reciprocated 🥺 Second reason is, I feel like the kids should have been told. I get that it may have been awkward and they may have gotten angry, but they deserved to know. Especially Siwoo who was extremely close to Woo Young. I get he made the excuse of going back to the states, but in this age with cell phones that wouldn't explain no contact. Can you imagine how heartbreaking that would be for Siwoo. With Woo Young being his first and best friend, to all of a sudden not ever being able to talk to him again, with no real explanation.. He wouldnt understand and would probably think he did something wrong. I know he became friends with the basketball team, but I dont think that would've been the same as his friendship with Woo Young.

Overall as I said, this series was beyond amazing! Its a 9.5/10 for me!

This was such a beautiful show and everyone should watch it

WARNING: This review WILL contain spoilers for the ending!!!

I'm not very good at reviews which is why I don't post them very often but I had to post my review on this because this series was just so amazing! It had such a beautiful message and had multiple moments talking about real topics/issues in the LGBT+ community. It was such a wonderful series to watch from beginning to end. It was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions, but it was such a beautful series and everyone should give it a chance!
Both the actors did such a fantastic job! This series just felt so real and natural and the actors had such amazing chemistry together! While yes the series didn't end 100% happy, it was very emotional and kinda bittersweet, I love that they kept it that way. As much as I wanted it to have that ''movie'' ending where he comes out and they're able to be together, I like that they kept the realistic ending and showed that Karl wasn't ready yet and that nobody would force him till he was. That plus the ending message really helps people who arent out yet. I just love that despite the sadness of the situation, it really drives home that if you're not out it is perfectly fine and there's no pressure or rush for you to finally come out to people. That it's all in your own time and that we will be ready and waiting to welcome you when you do.
I also love that the final scene made it seem like Vlad would stay in his life until Karl is ready.

Such a beautiful series!! A little bit of a rushed ending, but so worth the watch!

I can't get over how beautiful the story in this series was! It was definitely a roller coaster of emotions, and very painful at times, but it was so beautiful!
The progression of Qi Lu and Qin Xiao's relationship in the series from beginning to end was just perfect! Seeing it go from clearly liking each other but not admitting it, to Qi Lu admitting his feelings, Qin Xiao then denying his feelings, to him finally giving in, was just so beautiful to watch!
Same with Liu and Tan Yi. While I didn't love their story as much, their relationship progression was just as great to watch. Tan Yi pining for Liu, Liu drunkenly admitting his feelings while Tan Yi couldn't hear, to him then denying his feelings before finally giving in.. so perfect!
Honestly, almost everything about this series was so perfect to me! It had the perfect blend of pain before happiness, rejection then acceptance, and two people who felt trapped before finding each other and finally breaking free.
The ending was definitely more rushed than I'd have liked, but with how amazing I personally found the rest of the series, I didn't mind. I am just happy that we got a happy ending for both couples!!
One thing I did hate was Qi Lu's father.. I wanted so much more to happen to him for the abuse he was doing to Qi Lu. He is a disgusting piece of shit human being who doesn't deserve to breathe air so I hate that in the series nothing ever happens to him. He's even an influential person in the art world, and yet he doesn't even get that taken from him.. The one time Qi Lu actually stood up to him, he threatened Qin Xiao again to get him back under control 🙄 I'm really glad at the end of the series he was able to get away from him, and that even though he had to do what his father wanted because of the threatening, he only had to do it for a year and it was a year away from him!
I also am not a huge fan of miscommunication, or non-communication in this case. It drives me crazy when, if people would just talk to and be honest with each other, things may not have happened the way they did. If they had been honest with each other, when Qin Xiao hurt his hand and realized he couldn't take the exam to get into university, he would have known Qi Lu was being forced by his dad not going with his mom so he wouldn't have had to hide it. The only thing I'll say in that regard, is the dad could have threatened him again when Qin Xiao tried again to get into university.. I could see that happening, but it didn't ease my irritation with the non-communication causing a 6-year separation. I know that was needed for the angst and drama of the series, but miscommunication/non-communication is a trope many series tend to fall back on and I just really dislike it.
Regardless of that though, I thought this was a beautiful series! I'm so happy that both couples got happy endings with each other! I just really adored this and it's probably one of my top series from this year!
