So, I just watched yesterday’s episode and here are my thoughts. There are two ways this storyline could have worked and made sense and guess what, none of them requires Hyo Shim getting up and vanishing abandoning Tae Ho!
First of all in both options this should have happened much earlier:
Option1: The poor excuse of a Father (PEF) shows up at around episode 30, asks for a liver, Hyo Shims gives it to him and blah, blah blah...mother shows up yells at the father (which for the first time on 50 episodes I actually found myself routing for her) Hyo Shim hears her, realizes that she has never really lived her life and doesn’t know who she is, she went from being someone’s daughter to someone’s girlfriend. TALKS with Tae Ho asks for some time to discover herself and what she wants, and Tae Ho agrees, because if we learned anything about his character is that he is a very understanding and empathetic person. I mean he agreed to postpone the wedding, he wasn’t happy about it but still understood her! After he found her, when she left the hospital he once again understood! So, if she just asked for time he would still understand!! He will still be around of course supporting her and 3-4 episodes later they get back together!
Option 2: PEF shows up at around episode 43-45, same series of events happen, this time the family hears the mother scream at the father, realize just how much Hyo Shim has done for them, beg for forgiveness (especially Hyo Jun, who 50 episodes in has still not asked for forgiveness and had a decent conversation with his sister) He should seriously thank Mi Rim for making him half tolerable because she is the best! And after all of this is solved, THEN they could have finished with the Taesan storyline!!
Same storyline but in different order and no need to go and destroy what you have built these past few months! When I first started LYOL I said I only liked 4 and a half characters (The ML and FL, Mi Rim, Philip and the half was the older brother). Now one episode before the end I only like 4 characters (Tae Ho, Mi Rim, the older brother and Philip who is honestly my favorite.) I mean the writer could have easily worked on developing the other characters instead of whatever he did!!
You are right on with the characters, though it does pull a reverse TRHC meaning it gets really good halfway through…
So happy to hear that it gets better. I also think I know what you mean about the older brother. I recently watched episode 20-21 and he started to suspect that the ML likes his sister and he does not approve, so I suspect that will get annoying soon! As for the other family members and the mother I don't know how they will manage to redeem them (because we know they will) if by now they didn't show any signs of change.
So I recently started watching this and I only really like 4.5 characters The Fl, the ML, Philip and Mirin! The 0.5 is the Fl's older brother, he really seems decent and the only one that kind of understands what the FL is going through but he really needs to grow a pair! I came here to see if things get better letter on but apparently they don't! Hopefully this will pull a reverse TRHC (which started great and after episode 30 went to shit town) and get better after episode 30!

I didn't notice that to be honest so if it's true it makes sense not to be her. Anyway all of these as speculations based only on one episode. I am pretty sure the writer will make us wonder for both questions throwing some misdirection and red herrings our way in order to confuse us.
As far as 1st episodes go you cannot do better than this. They provided all the emotional backstory and set up everything for what's to come. Who could Jung Ki Ho be in the future? Who is his mother? Could it be Yoo Ran Jo? The majority of the episode was on the backs of the young actors who they did an excellent job. The more I was watching the young actress that played Seo Mok Ha the more I was seeing Park Eun Bin and that's some excellent casting right there.
*As for who I think is adult Jung Ki Ho, I think is Cha Hak Yeon's character because: 1) the young actor had some similarity to him 2)this writer has the tendency to spend the first episode on the 2nd ML making an emotional connection between him and the FL and then have it been for nothing and 3) the character's name is Woo Hak which is very similar to Mok Ha which is the FL's name...
Moving is a masterclass when it comes to structure and storytelling! Telling a story in a non linear way could be confusing and the downfall of a drama, but up to this point Moving does an excellent job in keeping the viewers engaged.
Here is what I want to see after todays revelations:
1)I want to see the next 2 episodes as they were indented to be broadcasted without anyone being edited out. The 6 of them just having fun. Moon Se-Yoon and Kim Seon Ho is one of my favourite combinations and the idea of not seeing them together just hurts... 2) I want them to film the 100th episode the way they indented and have it be a celebration, and although KSH cannot be there it could be like the episode Moon Se Yoon was sick (were they had a plush pig toy), they can have a sprout in a pot in his place or something like that 3) I don't want them to be afraid to mention his name and maybe by the end just say that he can take all the time he needs to pull him self together and that they will wait for him
