The evil twin lookalike Jun Dai does not exist in the novel. Basically the novel is about ML returning home from the battlefield on the brink of death and FL ended up marrying him while he was in a coma. When he regained consciousness, him and FL did not get along, the first half of the novel basically focuses on their dislike for each other and FL's relationship with his family. Its a very slow burn as the leads only started liking each other half way through. Honestly, I think the novel was kinda bland. The drama sounds way more interesting

Nobody abandoned the kid emperor. ML became prince regent to assist and support him until he's old enough to rule and from the ending its clear that he splits his time between Lin'an and his royal duties, especially the last scene when they show the leads are going to war. I dont see anything wrong with the full circle moment of lin'an, its where their whole journey started.
