Just started and this is so unexpected. I wasn’t interested in this genre but had to peek because I had a soft spot for both FL and ML. Also a plus to have Kim So Young and Jung Young Joo. They always bring their A-game in terms of acting and comedic timing…had to burst out laughing at the easy access and the bgm.🤣 🤣 Bravo to the scriptwriter for bring this content to conservative kdrama audiences and at the same time make it humourous.

It is an exceptionally well done sageuk. I have tried watching it several times and if you can get pass episode one…because it can be quite overwhelming with such a huge casts then you’ll be surprised by phenomenal acting and story. (See Commenter’s Eleison’s review. She wrote a detailed who’s who). This is majority about the political court and the power struggle between the princes. This is also a story centered on the Queen and her sons on how she navigate the treacherous power play in the palace. She is intelligent, fierce, protective, wily, and 100% a mother before a royal. There is slight romance with the main prince. Overall a fantastic watch. You will not be bored and by the end you will want more episodes lol. Enjoy!
Wow grandma’s acting…🤯. For a novice without any prior acting experience is first-rate. She did a bang-up job👍!M is such a mood. The Qingming scene was quite realistic and him taking shortcuts is just a simpleton move lol. Amah is so much wiser, can’t fool her. The card playing scene was heavyhearted and somber when she said the left-over food she had to eat by herself…uff! Her bro really chap my a$$. Such useless and cold hearted humans which reflects real life. The last moments of her life was too painful to digest…cried buckets 😢 I miss my Popoh’s hometown, it’s so similar. Also recognize her talking in teochew. Their bts was so adorable and disarming💖
