They totally tricked us with that epic scene in ep 12 😭 I mean, someone who “just loves everyone” wouldn’t go to that extreme! That line — “The beautiful mountains, the clear waters, the green meadows — I will definitely go there with you.” — when he looked at her and mustered his strength to get up before getting stabbed in the back by QJT… it clearly screamed his feelings for QT. The potential was HUGE, if only they give the lead a proper buildup. But all those unnecessary arcs totally ruined it. It’s like they truly have no idea what they’re doing with this Wangquan arc. Sadly. I’ve already put my hopes for their romance at rock bottom.

I would love to see that too. Hongye is way better than QJT or that Fox King. Honestly, I’m just hoping their heart-to-heart conversation ends up being satisfying… they deserve that much at least!

I couldn’t agree more. At first, I really thought they were so sweet together. But after watching the ep 30 preview, their interactions just feel.. awkward. Up until ep 29, they didn’t look promising as a couple. I really tried to believe in them, but now their vibe is just… off. Honestly, since they’ve already changed so much from the original story, I think at this point, FG deserves someone better.

I just hope HY doesn’t get killed by QJT. If he does, maybe that’s one of the reasons FG turns evil—with the blonde hair and all?

We’re almost out of episodes, but there’s still so much going on! The lead hasn’t confessed yet, and Black Fox and QJT are still kicking. Come on! I used to imagine FG and HY teaming up to fight against Black Fox, but… yeah, that hope’s long gone. Their heart-to-heart was enough for me as closure anyway.

Your opinions are spot on. My first thought when I read the synopsis was that this would be Fugui’s journey, with his lover included. But now, the story’s totally off track. Instead of diving depth into the characters’ inner thoughts and development, they just pushed unnecessary arcs, making it feel like two different dramas with the same cast. Like… why even bother buying the license if they’re just gonna make a whole new story?

What happened? I read somewhere that this producer—Mr. Wang something—visited Hero Legend’s filming location for several days just to pursue CY.

As I mentioned, I’m not sure which of the rumors are true. I only read about them on the MDL pages for both YML and GJC.

Actually, after seeing the preview for episode 30, I couldn’t help but think her interaction with FG seemed ... awkward.

It’s heartbreaking, honestly. There’s nothing we can do as viewers — we never truly know what happens behind the scenes. All we can do is hope they can protect themselves and find the courage to leave the agency if things ever become too much to bear. Being an actor is wonderful, but it’s not the only way to live, to earn, or to be loved. I just hope he stays safe, happy, and surrounded by people who genuinely care for him.

From what I know, they’re both from the same agency. Just like the speculation surrounding YML, some people think GJC might be the next target. You can read about it on GJC’s page in MDL — they talk about it a lot. Come to think of it, IMO YML and GJC do share some similar facial features. With all the rumors going around and not knowing what’s true or not, I just hope he’ll be okay.
