KDeja Vu

Ok, if you've watched KDramas for any period of time then the setup of this one is going to seem familiar. The description should be:

Overzealous cop gets into confrontation with a local woman of a misunderstanding. Comedy and crime ensue as they team up.

There's nothing wrong with covering the same ground as other kdramas, it's the exe ution that matters. So how is it?

The actors do a solid job, I don't think anyone puts a foot wrong.

Wish I could say the same about the script. The comedy is... quirky, perhaps even slapstick. I'm okay with that as long as there's other qualities to keep me interested. Unfortunately the writing struggles to stay within the rules it sets for itself which makes it confusing.

The characters are very much two dimensional, there's a promise of depth there but it doesn't appear. By Episode 5 I was waiting for the inevitable character development... but into Episode 6 it still wasn't happening, at which point I'd had enough.

Can't say much about the soundtrack, although Jaurims '25, 21' is always a win.

As with all things, reviews are an expression of personal perception of a thing. For me this show didn't work, ymmv.
