A Disaster of a drama
Honestly, Dream to You is one of the worst K‑dramas I’ve watched this year. It started off looking promising, but quickly spiraled into cliché chaos. The writing was inconsistent, shallow, and skipped over the important issues it pretended to raise.
The second lead couple had potential at first, but their story went downhill fast after the mother’s antics. The writer basically forgot about them, leaving their arc unfinished and frustrating. Meanwhile, a third couple was thrown in for no reason, serving zero purpose in the drama.
On top of that, we got random family feuds, a cancer subplot that was barely touched, and YiJae’s character written as a doormat only to flip into a last‑minute “I love myself more” speech, followed by a breakup just 30 minutes before the finale. It felt like emotional whiplash.
To make it worse, the abusive father faced no consequences while the good dad was punished with cancer. Add in mid‑tier acting, and the whole drama felt like wasted potential.
Bottom line: Dream to You was a disaster from start to finish, messy script, wasted couples, useless subplots, and lazy execution. Definitely one of the biggest disappointments of the year.
