I have not been so addicted to a drama in so long until I stumbled upon Love Alarm on Netflix. I think it’s due to the fact that it reminds me of the tucked away love I have for Boys over Flowers or The Heirs, or the fact that Song Kang reminds me of Lee Min Ho. It’s definitely a flawed drama with imperfect characters, but it’s such a “crack drama.” It has so much heart to it where it pulls you in as you’re experiencing the burning chemistry between JoJo and Sun Oh. Hye Young is probably the easier choice for JoJo as it will bring less heartache but the chemistry between JoJo and Sun Oh is undeniable that you can’t help but root for them. During the show, some of the choices that were being made makes you question the writer, like why would Sun Oh kiss JoJo knowing his best friend likes her; however, during the press conference, it was known that he fell in love with her at first sight. Second, why would Hye Young go after her knowing that his best friend dated her? It’s like two guys breaking bro code. But honestly speaking, this stuff happens in real life all the time. I guess this show does depict flaws in every character. Ultimately, if you like boys over flowers/heirs type of drama, then please do watch it as it is so addicting. If you don’t, then you will probably not be that fond of it. Regardless, this is definitely a thumbs up for me, for sure.
