I remember starting this when it first came out but never finished episode 1. Now here I am 2 years later FINALLY trying to finish this series & what's completely throwing me off is there's NO WAY Korea was able to react & create countermeasures for a parasyte THAT fast 😂😂 great first episode tho

Naw this series was actually crazy. I was right about a few things but honestly couldn't predict what was going to happen. fire show def worth the watch
The writers made a bold choice. I'm starting episode 5 and I couldn't stand the MC from the start, He's just an annoying piece of trash. I've dropped shows for less but I only have 2 eps left and I'm curious how this wraps up
I've been putting off watching this series for the longest. Honestly because I wanted to watch It dubbed because I didn't feel like reading subtitles, But after finishing Aema (which I'm genuinely shocked this series mentioned) I wanted to see more projects that stared Kim Sun Young but I noticed she doesn't have many roles as a lead this was the latest so I decided to start it.
I'm glad I did because not only was she amazing in her role but the story was engaging with so many deep themes I wasn't really expecting. I was honestly expecting more of a lighter comedic tone but this show proved me completely wrong. The messages and themes portrayed in this had me going through a range of emotions from being annoyed, happy supporting all the women, shedding a few tears & laughing. Imo this is def a must watch that I give a rating of 8-8.5.
Even tho I have high praises for this series it does have its flaws that annoyed me as I finished it. (GOING INTO SPOILERS)
I'll start with the characters. The main cast of women imo were definitely one of the strongest aspects of the story. loved everything about them & Seeing their stories unfold is what kept me engaged. However the Male lead character was very standoffish to the point I was yelling at the screen for him to show at least SOME type of emotion or empathy. I saw absolutely no point in the chairman's wife or the other detective role in the series other than for them to be extremely annoying. Those 2 characters were just a waste of screen time.
Some decisions they made story wise that threw me off were the affair plot line. I can understand why the FL didn't come out about it, that isn't my issue. My issue lies with how the ex husband & her friend seemed to just completely disappear from the story like they never even existed, & the fact that the FL never told her friend about the affair just didn't sit right with me personally.
The cold case plot line gave the series a feel of mystery which I appreciated the attempt but honestly seeing how everything played out wasn't needed and didn't really fit the story at all. Once I got towards the end of the series I felt like the authors just started throwing more in more into the story for the sake of tension & none of it stuck the way it should've. I just asked myself " does the writers even want these women to be happy anymore, because where are these problems coming from?''
I feel like this is already too long so i'll wrap up with this. GREAT SHOW, but lost momentum by trying to do too much too quickly in the end. I think the sweet spot for this would've been giving it 8 to 10 episodes
I was hoping the villains would be more competent this time around, but it literally seems like the whole plot for both films are this corporation is experimenting on kids giving them OP powers and then just "tries" to kill them. Very mediocre plot but I really enjoyed the action and imo Tom was the best character being he's the only one with a personality. It's an ok movie but does nothing much to drive the franchise forward narratively until the VERY END
I love her projects so much i'm actually surprised her catalog isn't bigger. So far i've seen 3 of her dramas and 2 movies she's lead, what's funny is I just noticed all of the characters she has played none are mentally stable 🤣
"You remember that 9 year old who ran away that destroyed our facility who was stronger than & killed everyone? Yeah, let's kidnap her & remind her of all the trauma & torture we caused as we heal her even tho all we want to do is kill her & she's extremely vulnerable right now"
Good movie but gawd why cant people write competent antagonists?
I wish him nothing but success, but it's kind of sad when you look at the numbers. He's been in the industry basically his entire life, featuring in projects every single year. I just hope he gets enough breaks and can also enjoy his youth
watching her episode of running man with Park Eun Bin and my brain is fried. There's no way this is the same woman from You and everything else. I get different hair styles and color but I genuinely can't tell if it's her even tho I know it is....
one thing that frustrates me about this drama is how smug and confident Jin Mu is when he's so easily disposable. He's the common denominator in all these scheming plots yet everyone just lets it happen and he gets away with it every single time. ain't enough leniency in the world. I just can't understand the politics/ justice system of this universe
Alright I'm confused didn't all the information about Jang Uk's lineage and the kings star get exposed last season? That's why him and the prince made the deal to hide it so the king would be the hero so why are they revealing it to the Prince again as if no one knew?
This man is in damn near everything, but every time I see him cast as a villain I can't take him seriously lol but his role in Alchemy of souls has to be my favorite role of his
That's his plan to make her own choice. Like people wanna kill you now u wanna run or defend.
him being somewhat transparent doesn't take away her ability to make a choice because whether she ran or not people were still after her. All he did was put her at risk because if it wasn't for plot she would've died 5 times over due to her being a deer caught in headlights. He may have had good intentions but he's an idiot and just used her as bait. we'll see if my opinion of him changes in s2 but I doubt it will.
I said this back in episode 2 or 3 I think the uncle made a very moronic choice not telling his niece of the potential threats to her life AT LEAST by the age of 16. I'm not saying he had to tell her everything about the business but he could've at least warned her of potential threats and been transparent about her training. Her entire life got uprooted and she's completely in the dark even in her 20's & she's naive as hell & that's pretty effed up. I'm going into the last episode and my opinion hasn't changed, If anything I think he just makes terrible decisions all around
