I might be biased in rating the show a little too high(9/10) but I really enjoyed it. But wow, I love mini-series/short dramas. So much more enjoyable than most full length dramas which feels like they're dragging it out because they bought the airing slots or some reason other than creative liberty.
Is this show enjoyable for someone who's not a fan of historical dramas and the addition of fantasy with historical makes me even less of fan. I watched half of bulgasal and wasn't a fan mainly because of the fantasy historical theme.
It's pretty much a classic fairy tale romance, it's pretty chill for the most part and doesn't really try anything…
The show drags on for quiet a bit after ep10 and some new bs filler plot is added to get the story to ep14 and the last 2eps are literally just a slice of life drama.
Is this drama like a semi-historical drama? I'm neither a fan of fantasy dramas nor historical dramas. I want to give it a try because it looks interesting and totally not because I have a huge crush on Nara.
Only started this drama because I saw Na Ra in the poster. But this drama did surprise me by how mediocre it was. The main leads' chemistry was not good, the FL especially was not interesting and Na Ra's character was annoying. As for the story the mystery was not very mysterious and the thriller was barely thrilling and I was never on my toes for the 13 eps(26eps?) I have watched. Gonna drop this one neither fun nor a slow burner.
boring... too boring to even watch this week's episodes. I thought I would see Song Hye Kyo have better/different acting now. Does she always get boring roles or is she making the character she is playing boring, I want to believe in the former but I'm leaning towards the latter.
For a story that looked like a mess it fell into place beautifully and satisfyingly. I do think some parts of the story were unnecessary and were just added and thrown away for the sake of moving the plot forward. But I think their chemistry is just on another level that it you want to ignore the plot holes/open ends and makes you want to see them deeply in love and nothing else.
I loved this one so much. After an hour of scrolling through netflix looking for something to watch I decided to watch 'because this is my first life' only because the title looked stupid but to my surprise I binged it in under 2 days and now I want to watch more dramas like these. It felt very similar to a jdrama I watched recently called 'perfect world' idk why but it felt very similar in it's atmosphere and the only similarity in the stories were they are both pretty mature love stories yet very different. Maybe that's just me. This was the an amazing watch even though I stumbled upon it on accident.
Same, but what are the big plot holes? Because I am searching the comment section and I can't find anything. And…
Like there is no world building they just throw you in and government and military are non existent, an extremist group is allowed to do whatever they want and nobody is stopping them. A cult is allowed to show deaths on national tv and spread their propaganda. Stupid when you think about it.
ngl I just went in braindead without any expectations, it was fun. I only noticed all the big plot holes after looking through the comment section, but I dont think that matters because I had fun and I dont want to discredit the show on that part. Just go in without any expectations, much easier to watch this show.
I quiet enjoyed this one. I was binging through Bae Suzy's dramas to see if I actually like any, this by far was her best acting (imo) in the ~4 dramas of her I've watched. When I looked at the title before watching it I thought I was going to be another one of those cheesy romance dramas and I was putting to the side for too long. After watching it I can say it was really good and romance probably isn't even the main/defining genre for this drama. It has a some fantasy, romance, thrill, mystery, great acting and a solid story to back it all up. 'While you were sleeping' is worth giving a try.
P.S If you find someone like FL's sister, wife her asap no excuses.
